I woke up and took a few minutes to myself, this was my bed, finally. I soaked up the warmth of the sheets, and moved my feet around a bit, stretching out a bit, and slowly getting out of bed, because there was no rush at all.
I went to the bathroom, and just looked at the image starring back at me in the mirror. It had been a while since I actually looked in a mirror. I had let time just engulf me, and I hadn't really taken time, to do the things I wanted. I caught myself finger combing my hair and thinking of...Damien? Was I really trying to make myself look a little extra nice for Damien today?
I heard a knock on my door, and I giddily crossed over, hoping it was him.
"Morning," Nathan said and kissed my forehead. "Your hair looks nice."
"Thanks," I mumbled. The tension from last night was stick heavy between us, and we had left things unresolved. I'm guessing he had come here to stay true to his word in regards to keeping me safe, and not letting me leave.
"We need to go to my parent's house this evening," Nathan said.
"Is it mandatory that I go?" I asked. "I don't think Kathareena and I are on the best terms, and we just got back here. I'm enjoying being in my own bed again."
"It doesn't matter, I want you there, with me." Nathan said. "I have some things to do, but I'll pick you up around 6:00pm, okay?"
"Fine," I said, and watched him leave and enter the elevator.
With Nathan gone, this would be the best opportunity to see Damien without getting my hands slapped for disobeying his orders, and we hadn't really had the opportunity to talk after that heated exchange last night between everyone debating whether I was to be spared or killed. I waltzed over, and gently knocked on his door, hoping that he was there.
Damien smiled. "Come in.""You're not too busy?" I asked, peering around his room to ensure I wasn't interrupting anything.
"No," Damien shrugged. "I do have to head out in a bit to see my parents though, they're still a bit worried after everything yesterday."
"That's incredibly adorable," I sighed.
"Don't make me regret sharing that with you." Damien grinned.
"This is going to sound incredibly cringey, but your parents are gorgeous. You're a spitting image of them. Dare I say... they're hot?"
Damien paused and laughed. "Is there a screw loose in your head? Please don't talk about my parents like that.. I still have to see them, and the last thing I need is to think of you salivating over them."
"Shut up!" I laughed. "I'll just keep all my comments to myself then."
"That would be wise," Damien teased, and gave me his incredible smile that made me melt, and he took me out of my trance by hitting me with a cushion and I just shook my head and smiled. I missed this feeling, this feeling of being happy and comfortable. The feeling where things felt normal, and I wasn't tied up in some werewolf dominance battle and fight for power.
"When do you have to leave?" I asked. "If you're free, we could grab breakfast?"
"Well, I should probably head over soon," Damien said. "I try and give them the whole day if I can."
