I woke up slowly, rubbing my eyes for clarity. I vaguely saw someone standing over me, and I blinked a few times to ensure I wasn't hallucinating. My heart leaped when I clocked that it was Nathan hovering above me.
"Holy shit," I paused. "Nathan, you scared me."
I pulled the duvet closer to me, and wrapped myself up, hoping it would act as a shield.
"You look better," I observed, his face was mostly back to normal, with a few small bruises left behind, and a few cuts that were almost healed. "Are you okay?"
"How the fuck did you get out?" Was all Nathan snarled. "You left me."
"Nathan, I didn't leave you! I was getting you help." I quickly responded.
"So what's going on between us, huh?" He growled. "I have your necklace, does it mean anything to you anymore? Or is it all over, like Ryder said? After he was all over you and you all over him?"
"Nathan, he made that up." I said, keeping my voice calm, hoping he'd listen for once. "He was trying to get a reaction out of you. You think I'd let just let him grope at me like that?"
"OH, REALLY DYLLON?" Nathan yelled. "Just because I had the shit kicked out of me, doesn't mean I couldn't see the way he had his lips and hands all over you."
"Nathan," I said, straightening myself up more."Don't even say my name! You betrayed me, and you left me there!" He closed in on me, and wrapped his hand around my neck
"I went to get help!" I choked out. "Please."He released me, and he snarled.
"And it was full moon, I didn't have any other options, other than to run!"
"Why the fuck did you leave me there?" He yelled.
"I didn't!" I yelled back, and he started to shake. He pulled the covers off of me and threw them on the ground. He looked at my all the bruises that trailed around my skin and the cloth on my leg.
His hand went for the the cloth that wrapped around my leg, but I slapped his hand away, and stood up to prevent him taking advantage of me.
"A branch lodged into my skin in the forest," I said. "It's probably still fresh under there, I don't heal like you do." There was no way I was going to let him see the vampire bites on my leg. I could only imagine that would set off more rage than Ryder's lips on me.
"You left," was all he said.
"I was trying to help you." I said. "I was getting help, and nothing Ryder said was true. I kept trying to talk to you, but you being you, jumped to conclusions!"
"What about when he had his lips all over you!" Nathan yelled.
"Yeah, because I really would just let him do that. Nathan, you know me, stop making it more difficult than it needs to be!"
"No! You stop making it difficult!" Nathan yelled, but then stopped, and came right in front of me, and pushed me back down and he raised his fist to my face, ready to unleash his anger. I immediately put my hands up to shield my face, and I watched as he shook his head and stepped back.
"Nathan, stop," I said. "I'm covered in bruises, and everything hurts. I promise, I'm telling you the truth."
He backed up a bit further and then continued to shake, and I took the opportunity to create more distance, and crawled to the other side of the bed.
"What the hell is that for?" Nathan growled.
"Nathan," I sighed. "We just need to talk - calmly."
I watched as the vibrations increased, his body shaking and in increased motions. His face was turning red, and then all of a sudden he exploded into his fur and was springing across the bed.
I quickly threw the covers over him, but he ripped right through them, and I tried to run to the door and get out, but he got there first. He sprang for the door, and I quickly ducked, watching as his body slammed into the door instead of me. A large thud echoed through the room, and his body hit the ground. I ran to the other side of the room, and while he was recovering, I crawled under the bed, and positioned myself in the center, in hopes that with his massive form, he wouldn't be able to get to me.
