My eyes started to open in the faint light. Where was I? I tried to lift my head, but I was drained of energy and everything felt heavy. With all my strength, I tried to roll onto my side, but a sharp pain shot across my body. I tried to observe my surroundings, but it was hard to make anything out, my vision was blurry and everything was hazy. What was happening to me?
I heard faint muttering and my eyes darted to two figures on the other side of the room. I tried to use all my strength to focus but my body was working against me, I felt like a dead weight. I squinted hard to look at the clock and my memory came crashing over me like a tidal wide.
I was half convinced that I was dreaming, but this was real. Of course this was real. I wanted to scream for help, but I had no strength. They had knocked me out and they knew exactly what they were doing. How much time had passed, how long had I been here? They were draining me, putting me in pain, and I couldn't help but think this was the end. I didn't understand – Gabe wasn't here, was he? This had no correlation to him if he wasn't here, so why were they doing this to me? I started to panic, but I had to remain calm.
I slowed my breathing down. I had to continue to be out cold. I didn't want them touching me or near me again.
"What exactly are you planning on doing?" The unfamiliar voice snarled.
"He'll be back soon, and then he'll melt at the sight of her struggling and in pain, human compassion and all that. We just need to fuck her up a bit more, leave her hanging on her last breath so he'll flip sides if we spare her. If's she dead, she's no use to anyone, and he won't agree to help us out. When he sees her in this state, he's going to have no choice. He's weak and believes in all this human compassion bullshit, this will tip him over the edge."
"After that, what do we do with her?" The stranger's voice inquired.
"Who gives a shit, won't be our problem." Vlad scoffed. "She can die for all I care."
"New idea, why don't you just threaten to turn her into a vampire?" The stranger suggested. "Then we do, end of problem."
"No, then Gabe would still have her and they'd run off together somewhere. Tyler, don't be an idiot. Do you want this to work or not?"
"Then we kill her."
"Yes." Vlad said.
I titled my head and tried to focus on the stranger. He was tall and his hair was buzzed short, his dark eyes were piercing and he his face was adorned with multiple piercings, and his eyes flashed towards me, catching my gaze.
"Whatever, as long as this works." He grunted. "She's up."
I quickly shut my eyes, pretending to be knocked out, but they knew, it was no use. I held back my tears, and squeezed my eyes closed, preparing for whatever came next.
"Please," I begged. "Please don't."
Vlad hovered over me and came in close. I felt a fang go in my arm and I tried to scream but I couldn't muster the energy. He dragged his fang down the entirety of my arm and I felt the blood trickling out. His tongue followed the path and cleaned the blood up. Then he went to my other arm, and performed the same act, my body screaming in pain. I focused all my energy on my vocals and built up my remaining energy to let out a loud terrifying scream.
"Shut up, stupid bitch," he scowled.
I couldn't even push him off of me. I felt my eyes close again and everything hurt so much. I was in so much pain but no amount of yelling would help. I wanted to fight back, kick and scream, but my body was completely shut-down. He then took my leg in his hand and did the same with my leg; he dragged his fang down the calf and the tears trickled down my face. His tongue cleaned up the mess and he left me there, lying in my own blood starting to drip down.
