Nathans P.O.V
I didn't particularly enjoy lying to Dyllon. I wasn't having problems with Matt at all, which wasn't going to help put him in a better light for Dyllon... but I was breaking out in...werewolf. And it wasn't something I could really explain. Imagine trying to explain that to a girl.
I could tell that my transformation was nearing, especially with these random outbursts occurring more frequently. My claws were popping out whether I was excited, or stimulated, and they wouldn't retract no matter how hard I tried. Fur was popping up in random places, and whilst a long-sleeve shirt and pants hid them for the most part, it wasn't the most desirable look. Any time I walked by a mirror, I noticed my canines shaping out to become larger and sharper. Regardless, it wasn't making modern dating any easier. At least there would be some control when I fully shifted."Do you want to get going?" I asked.
"I guess," Dyllon mumbled, and I could tell she was agitated. I didn't blame her.
"I truly am sorry," I apologized. "You know what Matt can be like, when he's there, he's just there..."
"I know," Dyllon nodded. "Just a heads up would be nice is all. A simple knock. I live right across the hall from you."
It made it worse when she was understanding about it. How was she always so calm regarding everything?
"I promise, it won't happen again." I said. "So, I hope you don't mind going to the movies?"
"I'm dressed for it anyways," she shrugged, and my eyes hitched on her.
I noticed her skin-tight jeans, and her jacket that hugged her small waist. She looked gorgeous as usual. I'm sure she would be fine without clothes too. What was I thinking? I needed to concentrate.
I opened my car door for her, and I watched her get in and quickly looked away when she was positioned facing forward. It was going to be a long night if I couldn't keep simple impulses at bay.
"The theatre is fairly close," I said, taking note of the time. "We should be able to make the next round of showtimes."
"Sounds great," she replied, not offering much more for us to talk about.
I didn't know what to say, it felt awkward and I knew Dyllon wasn't happy with me being late, but she was really making me work for it. I wouldn't force her into conversation, but I scraped my brain for anything, literally anything to prevent us from hitting this awkward wall. But instead my brain drifted to the other night, when we had kissed, and the way her lips felt on mine, and that I would do anything to have that feeling again. But I had fucked up. The restaurant, and the impulse I had. Fucking impulses. Everything had been uncontrollable impulses and hopefully when I transformed, these wouldn't be an occurrence.
"Have you figured out if there's anything you've wanted to check out in town?" I cleared my throat.
"A little," she replied. "I've been making a list of a few food places, and must eats." She shrugged.
"I definitely have some recommendations for that list, if you'd like?""I'm all ears,"
"There's a catch." I paused.
"Go on," she turned to look at me, her eyes lighting up with curiosity.
"You have to let me take you to them," I grinned.
She bit her lip and teased. "We'll see. I've already started quite a large list, not sure if there is room on it for extra."
I laughed, I could chase if that's what she wanted."And what if the places on my list cross over with yours?" I asked.
"We'll have to make an agreeable arrangement," she joked.
