A new SG-1 team has been formed by General Samantha Carter, who now leads Stargate Command. Join Colonel Malachy Hughes as he and his team step through the Gate to explore the galaxy. They'll meet new friends, old enemies and discover what it truly...
Lee rolled over with a groan and sat up. A man stood outside the bars of her cell and grinned at her. "Ah, I see we're awake."
"I'm awake, you appear to have been up for much longer," she muttered.
He chuckled. "Indeed I have, but now that you're awake we can begin."
She sighed. "I have a very large headache so whatever nonsense you want to spout get on with it." She leaned back against the wall of the cell she was currently calling home.
"I am Lev Sidar, Second in the Lucian Alliance, and you are Captain Kain of SG-1."
"I'm shocked, you know my name. I'm famous. Do you want my autograph?" she sneered.
"What I'd like is your cooperation."
She snorted. "Honey, you may have the looks to make females swoon at your feet, but I'm not so foolish. Whether I cooperate or not, I know that when you're through with me I'm a dead woman. So, you can, and I mean this in the politest way possible, go screw yourself."
"You are as difficult as Xanth reported."
"I try. Should I be flattered that y'all talk about me?" She batted her eyelashes at him.
"We have a few trinkets that we need some help with. You see, we can't sell them as they are, we need someone with the Ancient gene to activate them."
"You got the wrong girl," she muttered.
"Oh, I don't think so. I was told by a very reliable source that you have the gene." He grinned at her.
She hadn't lied when she told him he had the looks. He was tall, dark, and could give any movie star on Earth a run for their money. Probably a lot of the models as well. She wasn't the type to swoon over a handsome face, she wanted a little more substance behind the pretty face. "Your source was wrong. Can I go home now? There's a program on TV tonight that I do not want to miss."
He clicked his tongue and shook his head. "You should steer clear of lies, my dear, it's very unbecoming." He gestured to the door and one of the guards released the lock. "Come along now."
"I'm fine right here."
"Bring her," he ordered the guards.
They grabbed her under the arms and hauled her from the cell, down a corridor and into a large, round room where they shoved her into a chair.
Lev hummed and went to a table where objects were spread out. "Let's begin, shall we?"
She sat on her hands. "I think not."
"Gentlemen, if you please?" One guard placed his hands on her shoulders to hold her in place while the other wrestled one of her hands free and held her wrist tightly.
She made a fist and sent Lev a grin. "Nice try."
He chuckled. "I could say the same to you." He bent close to her. "I don't need your fingers, my sweet, just your touch," he whispered and pressed the Ancient device against her clenched fist. It activated and he made a sound of pleasure. "Perfect."
Lee cursed the handsome bastard. She sat stiffly while he pressed different devices to her hand to activate them.
