Van spread everything out on the briefing room table. "I took plenty of pictures and video."

"We have the device so we can compare everything and double check it. This is amazing." Daniel picked up a couple of the images and studied them. "I was sorry I didn't get the chance to study everything while I was there and when we were forced to leave I thought it was all lost."

"I'm glad it was still there and intact. It took me several hours but I managed to translate a section of the text." He held out his notebook to Daniel. Despite having the tablet which could not only store tons of data, take pictures and video, and also keep notes handy, both Van and Daniel preferred to put their notes into a good old fashioned notebook.

"Are these Gate addresses?" Daniel looked from the notebook to Van.

"Yes. To the homeworlds of the four great races." He pointed to the last one. "The Furling homeworld."

"We've already met the other three, but we never knew where to find the Furlings. This is amazing."

"It is! We can finally find them," Van said excitedly.

"If Sam allows it. This planet could be anywhere."

"It's a six symbol address, it has to be in the Milky Way," he pointed out.

"You have a point."

"Come on, we have to at least try and ask her. We can't waste this opportunity." Van grinned at him.

"No, we can't." Daniel scooped up several items, turned and went to knock on Sam's office door.

"Come in," she called.

"Sam, Dr. Walsh discovered the Gate address to the Furling home world, we need to go there. Who knows what we could find!" He began placing items onto her desk. "There's so much information in this device, the addresses to the four great races could only be the beginning. The Furlings could tell us so much about what took place at the meetings between the races!"

"We'll send a M.A.L.P. through the Gate, if we get an all clear then SG-1 has a go," she told him.

They both cheered like small children.

"We'll need plenty of equipment so we can document everything." Daniel began making a list in his notebook.

"Daniel, I need you to remain here. The IOA is sending someone to do their monthly assessment, I need you to be in your department to explain anything if they have any questions."

"Sam, this is more important than the IOA!"

"I think the IOA would disagree," she replied. "I'm sorry, Daniel." When he opened his mouth to argue she held up a hand. "Save it, you're staying here."

"All right, but if I miss something truly extraordinary I'm blaming you."

She chuckled. "Fine, I'll take full blame." Daniel ushered Van from the room. "I can't believe we're going to get the opportunity to meet the last of the great races."

"Imagine what we might learn from them!" Van hugged his notebook to his chest.

"If they're willing to teach us anything at all. The Ancients weren't interested in helping us with anything and the Nox kept telling us we were too young."

"The Asgard helped," Van pointed out.

Daniel nodded. "Yes, but only because we were of use to them fighting the Replicators, I'm not sure they would have been as willing to hand over so much of their technology otherwise."

Van shook his head. "I disagree, Dr. Jackson, they did tell General O'Neill that we were on our way to being the fifth race, didn't they?"

"I believe so, though the details are a bit fuzzy after all this time. They saw potential in us I suppose. This is very exciting. Thank you, Van."

"For what?"

"This, for thinking of taking a ship back to the planet, for bringing back the device with you so we can continue to study it. All of it." Daniel stared at the papers they had left spread across the briefing room table. "So much knowledge and it was just moldering in that castle."

Van picked up a picture of the device. "I wonder why they abandoned it."

"Could be any number of reasons. I mean think about everything that happened, the Ancient's left for Pegasus, the Nox are pacifists, the Asgards remained here to help protect people from the Goa'uld."

"And we have no clue what side the Furlings fell on with regards to the Goa'uld."

"I doubt they sided with the Goa'uld. These four races were knowledgeable. They would all have understood that the Goa'uld were nothing but parasites. I can't see any of them assisting the Goa'uld."

"No, I suppose not," Van said.

Daniel sighed. "Let's get all of this down to the archeology labs so I can start people working on all of it. There's so much to translate. We'll have to document as much as we can before the device is moved to RBA for deeper study."

Van helped him take all of the files down so the resident linguists could begin working on translations. Daniel already had a team working on the device.

Van stood beside Daniel as the Gate dialed.

"Chevron six encoded." The Gate whirred and the last chevron clunked, lit up and locked. "Chevron seven encoded." The wormhole connected with a fawhoosh. "Sending M.A.L.P.'' The M.A.L.P. trundled up the ramp and disappeared through the event horizon. "M.A.L.P. will reach the destination in three, two, one, arrival. We're receiving transmission."

"Put it up on the screen," Sam told the Sergeant. The image of the planet appeared on the screen and they all stared at it.

"Well whoever was there doesn't appear to be home and I don't think they've been there for a while," Lee said. "Those buildings look abandoned."

"It would appear that the Furlings are no longer around." Sam shook her head.

"We should still go, maybe there's someone left, or technology!" Van said. "We're this close we can't walk away." He held up his hand with his thumb and index fingers less than an inch apart.

"Agreed. The planet appears safe enough. You have a go SG-1," Sam told them.

"Yes, thank you!" Van punched a fist in the air, saw everyone staring at him and cleared his throat. "Um, sorry."

Mal slapped him on the back. "Let's go get our gear and get you to the planet before you pass out from excitement."

"I won't pass out. Throw up maybe, but never pass out."

Mal took a step away from him. "Puke in Kain's direction."

"Wow, thanks, Colonel," Lee said.

"Come on, let's go you two." Mal led the way from the control room.
