Lee stared out the window. They'd been on board for a little over a week and it was boring as hell. There was very little to do on board a ship flying through deep space. She'd hit the gym more times than she could count. She, Van, and Mal had played enough games of poker to last a lifetime and Van was intelligent enough to count cards. It was how he'd managed to win nearly every hand. He lost a few to try and throw them off but they knew. She grinned, that was Van, nice to a fault. Though he did kick their asses more times than he lost.
"All alone contemplating the universe, Captain?"
She glanced over her shoulder at Elias. "What I do with my time is my business."
"Yes, I suppose it is. I'm surprised my brother isn't glued to your side."
She stood and turned to face him. "The Colonel isn't my keeper and it's a little sexist of you to believe I need one. I can take care of myself."
He stepped further into the lounge. "I didn't mean to imply that you couldn't but my brother is protective by nature. It's what he does." He moved closer to her. "And you are worth protecting."
She took a step back from him. "I suggest you leave now, Mr. Albrecht, before you do something exceedingly stupid and I'm forced to break something on your person."
He sighed. "That didn't come out right. I apologize. Please, call me Elias."
"No thanks, I'm good." She turned away from him. "Go away. I'd like to be alone." She paused and turned to him with a frown. "Scratch that, if anyone else came in here I'd be fine ... I simply don't want to be anywhere in the vicinity of you."
He stepped up beside her. "Look, just because Malachy and I don't get along doesn't mean you and I can't be friendly. Are you going to let his opinion color yours?"
"Yes, I am because you're a dick and the only agenda you have here is to tank SG-1 because you hate the Colonel. You have no valid reason to continue to pick at SG-1. So, I repeat, go away."
"Hey, come on, don't be like that. It's like you're channeling my brother."
She laughed. "It's a whole lot better than channeling your asshole demeanor."
He chuckled. "I can see why my brother likes you."
She snorted and turned away from him again.
He reached out and placed his hands on her shoulders and turned her to face him. "I am sorry, Leonore, I'm doing my job. It isn't personal." He lifted a hand and brushed the back of it over her cheek. "Unless you'd like it to be." He bent and kissed her without waiting for her to respond.
Lee shoved him back and swung. "You slimy bastard!"
He staggered away from her with a hand clutched over his broken nose.
Mal and Van hurried into the room at that moment. "What's going on here?" Mal asked.
"She punched me! I'm going to see Colonel Sheppard!" Elias shouted before he ran from the room.
Mal turned to Lee. "What the hell happened?"
"He came in here and started talking to me trying to be all ... I don't know something. Then he kissed me! He's such a slimeball!"
"Hey, come on, it's okay. He's gone," Van told her in an attempt at comfort.
"He kissed me, Van! He didn't call me fat or something childish, the bastard kissed me as if he had every right to do it! I should have kicked his balls up into his throat!"
"You have every right to be angry," Mal told her.
"Damn right I do. God, I hate that asshole!"
Mal set his hands on her shoulders. "What did he say to you?"
