Sam took her seat at the briefing table. "The report you have in front of you is from SG-19."

"Aren't they currently off-world on P0Q-316?" Mal asked her.

"Yes, they're monitoring the atmospheric conditions on the planet as well as a meteor shower that happens every twelve years. It's supposed to occur soon."

Van nodded. "They're also attempting to track the migration of the birds there, the indigenious people believe it's connected to the yearly rains. They say that the spirits bring the rains and the birds follow. They believe the meteor show and return of the birds occurring on the same day is a sign from the gods."

"And why does SG-1 care about the migratory habits of birds and meteor showers?"

Sam smiled at Mal. "You don't, what you should care about is the transmission they accidentally picked up. They were using equipment to listen for any signals from deep space."

"What does that have to do with their mission?"

"The local people have told them that the meteors 'sing' as they streak through the night sky. SG-19 was planning on recording it. They were testing the equipment." She gestured toward the report. "SG-19 picked up a transmission that originated from the Lucian Alliance."

Mal flipped open the folder and looked over the report. He let loose with a whistle when he read it. "A sale of weapons grade Naquadah, that's big."

"It is. I want SG-1 to be there and do whatever it takes to stop the sale and if it's possible, secure that Naquadah for us. But only if it's safe to do so. Your first priority is to disrupt the sale," Sam told him. "The more we can do to make a nuisance of ourselves the better. I want them to know we aren't going to back down and allow them to continue to operate in our galaxy."

"Don't worry, ma'am, we'll make certain that sale doesn't happen," Mal assured her.

"And we'll get that Naquadah too!" Lee told her.

"Only if it's safe to do so, if there are any issues, get out of there and gate home. Understood?"

"Yes, ma'am," Mal replied.

Sam nodded. "All right, SG-1 you have a go, get to the planet and set up to ambush the sale. Dismissed."

"The sale doesn't take place for two days!" Lee complained as she looked at the report.

"And that will give us enough time to figure out where it's happening and make certain we're there when it does." Mal rose. "Let's get our gear."

Nesrin scowled. "You're certain?"

Xanth nodded. "Yes, I've been monitoring the frequency. SG-1 is on the planet."

"Dammit! How did they know?"

He shrugged. "One of their teams picked up a transmission. How they found out matters little, we should warn Demos."
