CHAPTER 6

CHAPTER 6: Animal cruelty

Several months have passed and Jona is already a second year. She is currently at a veterinarian clinic, get her cat checked because it's not eating well lately. The doctor prescribed some medicines and she immediately bought it.

After that, she went a night stroll at the park. She sat at the bench with the cat on her lap.

"Please eat well kitty. Don't make me worry.", she said as she brushed her cat's body.

"Time flies so fast. I'm already a second year. And I'm even turning 20 this year haha.", Jona sighs.

"It's been years already but.... Why can't I forget him?", Jona's heart started to ache when she starts to remember the guy she loved when she was 18 years old.

Her eyes are starting to feel hot as if her tears will fall anytime but she tried to stop it.

"Meow~", Jona stopped thinking when she felt the paw of her cat in her cheeks.

"Hmm? I'm sorry I got lost in my thoughts. Are you hungry?", Jona asked as she brushed the cat's back.

"I'll buy you some food. Just wait here.", Jona then tied her cat's leash and went to the nearby convenience store.

As she's getting nearer to the convenience store, she spotted an old lady from a distance feeding cats and dogs.

'How kind and generous', Jona smiled at seeing the old lady's action. She then entered at the convenience store.

'Looks like Daniel is taking a day off right now. Oh wait. It's not a day off but a night off hehe', Jona chuckled because of her silly thoughts and paid for her drink and cat food.

When she arrived at the bench, her cat was gone. She only saw its leash untied.

Jona begins to feel anxious. Her heart is beating so fast that it's about to burst. Her hands and legs are trembling.

"No. No.", Jona's eyes is starting to feel hot again. She immediately let go off the bag and ran, finding her cat.

"KITTY! WHERE ARE YOU!? KITTYY!", Jona shouted with a trembling voice.

She's scared and worried at the same time. She doesn't want to lose her cat. Her cat has been her emotional support for a year already.

"KITTYY!", Jona shouted once again.

"Excuse me? Have you seen my cat? It's a ginger cat.", she asked every person she passed by but they'll only shake their heads in response which made Jona's heart hurt even more.

Jona spotted a group of people gossiping about something. She approached them and ask if they saw her ginger cat but their response made her shock.

"I saw an old lady earlier. She carried a ginger cat. At first, I thought it was her cat but when I think about it, the cat looks so uncomfortable to be with her. I'm guessing she's the one who stole your cat".

"Where can I find that old lady?", she asked them then they told her the way the old lady went the last time they saw her.

'A wolf in a sheep's clothing huh. Some people who shows their kindness in public were sometimes the fake ones!', Jona thought as she clenched her fist, her blood is starting to boil.

As she is walking towards the apartment, she spotted a brown-haired guy wearing a plain black jacket asking each person he passed by.

As she's getting nearer to the guy, her eyes and mouth starts to widen when she recognized who it was.
