CHAPTER 31: Hostage

Jona’s POV:

After class, Jona went to visit Johan in his house.

“H-hello ma’am.”, Jona greeted as soon as she saw Johan’s mom.

“Oh, hello Jona!”, Johan's mom greeted her back with a smile and hugged her which made Jona blush.

“Johan’s not home right now. He said he’ll be out for a while.”

“I see. I’ll just wait for him ma’am.”

“I told you to just call me mom, Jona”

“Ah right. M-mom. Hehe”, Jona laughed awkwardly while Johan’s mom smiled.

“By the way, do you own this salon mom?”

“Yes. I built this salon ever since Johan was a little kid.. But as time passes, I have to close it because only few customers will come. Being a hairstylist is my only passion so this is the only kind of business I could think of. However, when my eyesight got bad, I knew that I could no longer pursue my passion.”

Johan’s mom frowned while Jona listened to her silently. She then looked at Jona.

“But… thanks to you, Jona. Now that I can see well, I can finally pursue my passion. I also got lots of customers too.”, she smiled sheepishly.

“Also, thanks to the money my son earned.. We get to pay our debts.”, she continued.

Jona couldn’t speak. She knows it too well that the money Johan earned were from the illegal things he did. But she felt better for knowing that him and his mom is all healed now and he no longer had a reason to do those kinds of things.
The bell chimes which indicates that someone opened the door.

“Welcome!”, Johan’s mom greeted the customer.

“What kind of haircut do you want sir?”

“I prefer this.”, the customer pointed the picture.

“Alright! I’ll excuse myself Jona. You can sit on the vacant chair while waiting for my son.”

“Yes mom”

Jona sat at the chair and stared at the customer. The customer looks tall and has a strong built body.

‘He kinda reminds me of Sophia but I think Sophia is stronger.’

Jona looked on the outside and he saw men gathered outside the salon. She stared to each one of them.

‘It looks like they’re just here to meet each other but… why do I feel like this? I feel suspicious to them even to this guy..’

Jona looked at the guy who was having a haircut again. The guy noticed Jona staring at him so he looked back at her through the mirror. After seconds of looking at her, the guy suddenly smirked which made Jona rose her suspicions.

“Done! What do you think, sir? Do you like your new hair?”

The guy touched his hair and smiled.

“Yes. I like it!”

The guy then paid Johan’s mom a cash.

“Keep the change”

“Really? Isn’t this money too much?”

“Nah. That’s nothing.”

“T-thank you. Come again, sir.”, Johan’s mom bowed.

“No. I’ll stay here”

Johan’s mom raised her head and looked at the guy in confusion. Jona rose from her seat and stood up in front of Johan’s mom.

“Your haircut is done.. sir! There’s no reason for you to be here anymore!”, Jona said courageously.

“J-Jona. Be nice. He’s our customer.”

“Stay back, mom. From the moment I laid my eyes on this guy, I already felt suspicious of him.”

The guy smirked and rose from his seat.

“Wow! You’re such a smart lady!”, the guy laughed which made Jona clench her fist.

The guy signaled the other guys gathered outside to come in and they all moved to enter the salon.

“Your instincts are right, Lady!”, the guy smiled mischievously.

“J-Jona”, Johan’s mom trembled in fear.

“Just stay behind my back, mom. I’ll protect you.”

Johan’s mother was surprised of Jona. She stared at her and somehow, she reminded her of her son back when he saved her on the pungsan cult incident.

‘You look just like him’

Johan’s mother is tearing up as she stared at Jona.

The guy’s phone notified which made the other guys look at him. He then read the message for a while and signaled the other guys to leave. One of the guys opened the door and each of them exited but before they could go back, Jona stood in front of them and spoke.

“I don’t fucking care if your boss wanted you back right now but… before you could go back, I’d like you to send him a message from me.”

“You should consider yourself lucky right now, Lad-“

Before the guy could finish his sentence, Jona punched his face so hard to the point that the guy fell on the street unconscious.

“HEY!”

The other guys charged at her one by one but Jona beat each one of them.

Johan’s POV:

Johan ran the moment he went outside of the building.

‘Mom! Jona! I hope you’re fine’

Johan stopped when he saw plenty of guys lying on the street unconscious. He heard a guy screaming and saw Jona breaking that guy’s arm. Johan saw a guy running towards Jona holding a bat. He was about to ran and beat him but Jona quickly kicked the guy which made him unconscious. Johan was surprised on seeing how Jona fight.

“J-Jona?”

Jona raised her head and looked at Johan.

“Oh! Johan, you’re back!”, Jona smiled.

Another guy ran towards Jona while shouting but Jona punched his face without even looking at him. Johan opened his mouth in shock.

‘How did Jona become this strong? As far as I can remember, I only taught her once! Can she also copy someone’s move like me?’

“Hey!”, Jona called the only guy lying on the floor that was still awake.

“Y-Yes?”, the guy trembled in fear.

“You guys can go now. Tell your boss that if he ever mess with us again…. I’LL BEAT HIM TO DEATH… like what I did to you guys.”

“Y-yes.”, the guy then slowly stood and wake the other guys up. All of them groaned in pain as they walked away. Johan then approached her.

“Jona.. How did you become this strong?”

“When you were gone, I asked someone to train me. Her name is Sophia.”

“I see. But it’s still incredible that you became this strong for a short time.”

Jona laughed awkwardly as she remembered how intense her training was that it can even kill her.

“Johan…”

“Yes, Jona?”

“Tell me everything. Judging how you ran to come here, you must’ve known about those guys earlier.”, Jona looked at him seriously while Johan started to feel nervous.
