CHAPTER 30

CHAPTER 30: The summit meeting II

When Justin and Chuck began to fight Daniel, everyone else continued fighting. Johan still sat at the floor looking at Zack fighting. Eugene commanded Mandeok to fight Daniel Park so he smashed Zack's head and walked away. Zack fell on the floor so hard while Johan clenched his teeth, looking at Mandeok.

When Daniel saw Zack fell, he ran towards him but then he stopped when Zack quickly stood up.

"You know what? I've never won in a fight.", Zack said to Mandeok.

Mandeok stopped walking as he was quite surprised that Zack is still up.

"Isn't it funny? I fight all the time but I've never won. But the dojo master says I'm a genius. How can I be a genius when all I ever do is get my ass kicked?"

"I'm a boxer, but I've never won in a fight", Zack continued.

Instead of answering Zack, Mandeok just punched him and looked at Daniel. But then, Zack stood up again and asked him a question.

As Johan looked at Zack fighting, he felt a bit of admiration on the inside. He knows he's stronger than Zack but the fact that he's still standing after getting beaten up so hard makes him strong too.

After minutes of fighting, Johan slowly stood up to help Zack for fighting Mandeok.

'I think I should help-'

Johan stopped when a foot suddenly stepped on his face. He fell on the floor once again and touched his face while looking at Zack angrily.

'Ow! That bastard Zack! I was about to help him but he stepped my face? Does my face look like a wall?!'

When Johan saw that Mandeok was about to smash Zack's head, he then went faster and kicked Mandeok. Mandeok, Eugene, and Zack was surprised for his sudden attack.

"Let me ask you one thing. You could have just left me. Why did you help me again?", Johan asked to Zack.

"I don't know man. I forgot why. Are your eyes okay?", Zack replied.

"Yea... thanks. I'll return the favor right away."

Daniel, Zack and Vasco were surprised for Johan's attitude.

"My. My. It looks like we have a new union in town.", Samuel said as all of the hostel, Daniel, Zack, Vasco, and Johan lined up and ready to fight them.

Everyone was ready to fight each other. However, Eugene hesitated. He went silent and stared at them for a while.

"I just remembered. Your daughter's name is Yenna, right?", Eugene asked which made Eli surprised.

He told everyone what the people they cherished are currently doing. Making them hesitate to fight them. Eugene then faced Johan.

"Johan of God Dog. Since your mother is completely healed, she's no longer at the hospital. But rather, she was at the hair salon and has lots of customers now that she can see well. Another girl precious to you... Jona Mendez. She is currently helping your mother at the salon right now."

"Jona?", Daniel, Zack, Vasco, and Eli faced Johan. They're all wondering on how Johan is related to Jona.

"Daniel's precious friends at J High School. Mira Kim, Zoe Park, and Joy", Eugene continued.

Zack felt anxious after hearing Mira's name.

"I appreciate you responding to the invitation and coming here.. But didn't you leave your places a bit too undefended? All your weak points were within my reach. It was almost as if... you wanted me to take them hostage. You seem to have underestimated me."

All of them were shocked and anxious at the same time. Johan can feel his heart beating faster and his hands trembling.

'Crap! I shouldn't have come. Because I came here, I failed to protect mom.. And now, Jona will be in danger too.'

"Let's say you do have hostages. What is it that you want?", one of them asked Eugene.

Eugene smiled then pointed Johan.

"Hand over Johan"

Everyone was surprised on what Eugene said. Johan bit his lip.

'Crap! I want to go home to protect mom and Jona but... but!..'

Johan remembered the smiles of his mom and Jona. Those were the smiles he wanted to keep forever. He couldn't forgive himself if something bad happens to them because of him.

Johan was about to step forward but Daniel stopped him.

"We can't give you Johan. Instead... I'll take your offer earlier. Let the hostages go."

"Such self-sacrifice. I'm tearing up. All right!", Eugene was happy because of what Daniel said.
