When Jona opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was a bright light.
'Where am I? Please don't tell me I'm in heaven'
She then looked at her surroundings and saw nurses and doctors passing by and treating the patients.
"Oh! you're awake? ", one of the nurses approached her. "How are you feeling?"
"I-I'm feeling well. But.. Why am I here? What happened?", Jona slowly got up.
"Your boyfriend brought you here yesterday because you suddenly fainted. The doctor diagnosed you a fatigue. So, are you sure you're feeling well now?"
"Yes, I am ma'am but.... I don't have a boyfriend"
"Oh. Mr. Seong wasn't your boyfriend. Hahaha. Sorry, my bad. I thought he was your boyfriend because he was so worried that he slept beside you yesterday."
Jona blushed hard upon hearing what the nurse said.
After paying the bills, she passed by to the rooms of the other patients. She stopped when she saw a family name 'Seong' on a door.
'Seong? Is this related to Johan?'
"Excuse me ma'am. Are you looking for someone?", a nurse asked her.
"Um... may I see the patient named Seong?"
"Ah sure. Follow me ma'am."
The nurse led Jona to a woman lying on a bed. As Jona stares at her face, she realized that she resembles Johan.
"What happened to her?"
"She's under the rehabilitation because of the drugs she was influenced two years ago but luckily, it seems that her sanity went back. The only problem is that she was diagnosed a type 2 diabetes and she will end up blind if not treated.", the nurse said while looking at the woman with pity. "I feel sorry for her son who was working so hard for her treatment. He took care of his mother all these years."
The nurse also told Jona how she was influenced with the drugs. The more Jona heard her story, the more her heart hurt.
As Jona walks through the hallway, she saw Johan sitting on the floor, contemplating while his face have bruises.
She slowly approached him. When Johan looked at her eyes, her heart feels heavy. He looks like a puppy. A puppy that's asking for help.
Jona knew that he was fighting and she should be mad at him for letting himself hurt. But she couldn't say anything. Instead, she just embraced him.
"You can lean on me. Please stop being a strong person for a while.", Jona whispered.
Johan hugged her tightly and started sobbing. It's the first time she saw Johan being this soft. Tears slowly fell from her eyes when she remembered the time Johan told her that what he did has a reason. She realized that he was just desperate for money because of his mother's treatment.
Jona closed her eyes as she's feeling the pain Johan felt through his cries.
Johan's POV:
"It hurts. Everything hurts. Everything feels heavy.", Johan gritted his teeth to prevent himself from sobbing but he failed.
"I told you to stop being strong for a while.", Jona said while hugging him tightly.
'I hate it when someone saw me this weak. But.. I feel really weak right now. Jona's embrace is so warm. It's just like my mom's embrace. Her voice... it's as sweet and soothing as my mom's. I've been longing this feeling for years. I don't want to let this go. I want her to stay.... stay by my side.... forever.'
