CHAPTER 19

CHAPTER 19: Mahal Kita

Johan's POV:

'Fuck! Zack is so quick. Just because of that one mistake, he already figured it out.'

Johan stopped walking when he felt a hand grabbing his right arm.

"Johan"

Johan turned around to see who it was and he was shocked when he saw Jona crying.

"Jona?"

"Johan.... Just listen to Zack. Please.... Stop hurting yourself."

Johan froze. He couldn't speak.

'Did she heard what Zack said earlier? I guess so but it's not what's important right now. What she said and how she looks right now is just like in my dream.'

"Johan...", Jona looked at Johan's eyes while holding his hand. "Let's go home."

"Jona... I'm sorry. But I think you should go home alone this time. Please be safe. I still have a lot of things to do.", Johan said and removed her hand from his arm.

He then turned his back and started walking away. The more he walks away knowing that Jona is looking at his back, the more his heart aches.

"Mahal Kita"

Johan stopped walking when he heard unfamiliar words from Jona.

'What does it mean?', Johan wanted to ask her but he chose to remain quiet.

"It means....saranghae", Jona continued.

Johan's heart started to beat fast that he can almost hear it. His hands are slowly shaking. He wanted to say a word but he chose not to.

Instead, Johan took a step forward even though he can feel his legs getting weaker and act like he didn't hear her at all.

'I'm sorry Jona'

As Johan is getting farther that he couldn't see Jona when he looks back, he leaned on the wall and started sobbing.

'It hurts. I don't want this.'

Jona's POV:

Jona watched Johan walking away.

'It doesn't matter whether he heard what I said or not. What hurts me the most is that he chose the path that will only make him suffer.'

Jona wiped the tears that she felt in her cheeks.

'Johan why? Why do you have to go through this? You don't deserve this.'

Jona closed her eyes, clenched her fist, and bit her lip.

'I want to help you... but how? How?'

Jona thought so hard. After seconds of thinking, she opened her eyes with determination.

'I don't care whether I'll be put in a more dangerous or hard situation, I'll help you no matter what Johan.'

*A Day After*

Jona arrived at the Daeil Hospital, another prestigious hospital from Gangnam.

"Thank you.", Jona said as she paid the cash to the taxi driver.

'I'm nervous. I hope the well-known ophthalmologist of this hospital is available.'

She then went to the reception area of the hospital.

"Excuse me"

"Good morning miss, what brings you here?", a pretty lady greeted Jona with a smile.

"Um.. May I ask where Dr. Choi Won Seok is?"

"Oh! His office is located at the fourth floor. Just go straight to the right after you took that elevator over there until you see his name on the door.", the lady said and courteously pointed Jona the direction to where the elevator is.

"Thank you!", Jona bowed and went to the elevator.

She then pointed the number four in the elevator and waited patiently until the elevator took her to the floor she'll go.

"Dr. Choi.... Dr. Choi...", Jona mumbled as she looks at the names that posted on every doors she had passed.

"Ah! Here!", Jona's eyes lightened when she saw the name of the doctor she's looking for.

She then took a deep breath and opened the door.

"Welcome!", a lady greeted her.

"Um. Hi! Is Dr. Choi here?"

"Yes miss. Follow me.", the lady lead her the way to where the doctor's room is and opened the door for her. "Just go inside miss."

"Thank you", Jona bowed and went inside.

"Good morning miss. What brought you here? Do you have any problems with your eyes?", a doctor greeted her.

"Good morning doc. Actually, I came here to ask if you could treat my friend and his mother."

"We'll see. What are their complications?"

"My friend's mother was diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. Because of that, her vision was affected and if her eyes won't get treated, she might end up becoming blind forever. The same goes for her son since he inherited the illness of his mother, the vision of his one eye is starting to get worse."

"I see. So both of them needs an eye donor huh. I'll make a way. Just write here your name and number miss."

"Thank you so much doc.", Jona bowed to the doctor and felt really happy.

"No problem. It's my duty as a doctor to treat every patients.", the doctor smiled at her.

Jona left to the hospital with a smile on her face.

'There's a chance Johan... A chance to save both you and your mother.'
