CHAPTER 14

CHAPTER 14: New Friend

When Johan finished crying, he slowly got up and held Jona’s hand.

‘Awkwaaarrdd~’, Jona thought while both of them are walking towards the place that Jona doesn’t know where he’s taking to.

Johan didn’t say a word ever since then and Jona couldn’t dare to start a conversation too.

Minutes later, they stopped by at the restaurant.

‘Oh. He’s hungry.’, Jona looked at Johan.

Jona slowly eats the food she ordered while Johan ate faster despite the awkwardness between them. He already finished 3 plates while she haven’t even finished a half of her food.

“Don't you like the food?”, Johan finally talked.

“Ah.. Erm.. I like it.. Haha.. It’s delicious.”, Jona smiled awkwardly and quickly ate her food but she ended up getting choked.

“Slow down.”, Johan handed him the water.

Jona then drank the water Johan gave him. 

“I’m surprise that your body is still lean despite you having a big appetite.”, Jona said while she continued eating.

“Well, you know I move a lot.”

“Tsh. I hope my body is like that too.”, Jona frowned.

Johan chuckled and pinched her cute cheeks.

“You’re cute.”

Jona frozed and ended up staring at Johan. It was her first time seeing him smile like that. When Johan realized what he did, he quickly removed his hand from her cheeks.

“Ehem! F-finish your food.”, Johan said while looking at the other way.

Jona can feel the hotness of her cheeks. She bit her lip to stop herself from smiling.

When she finished her food, they both left from the restaurant.

“By the way, how did you end up at that hostel’s place yesterday?”, Johan asked while they are walking.

“Well, there’s a bastard who texted me. Saying that they’re looking for a model. My naïve self wanted to try too so I took the bait. If only I hadn’t drink that water, I wouldn’t be unconscious that time.”, Jona sighed in disappointment.

“and also, I would’ve been having fun with my friends yesterday night if only I didn’t took the bait.”, Jona shook her head.

“Tsk! What’s wrong with you? Why do you always get caught up in dangerous situations? Are you a magnet to danger or something?”

“I don’t know too. Ever since I came here in Korea, I always encounter these kinds of things.”, Jona groaned. “….. but for some reason, I didn’t regret coming here”

Jona looked at Johan. “…. because I met my friends and….. I met you….” Jona smiled.

“Tsh”, Johan looked at the other way. He couldn’t resist Jona’s cuteness.

“Oh and Johan!”, Jona said while shaking Johan’s arm.

“What?”

“Can you teach me some martial arts? You were so cool yesterday! I wanna be like you”, Jona smiled sheepishly.

“Be like me? Tsh! Dream on!”

“Aww come on!”, Jona insists.

“Fine fine. We’ll go to the gym later.”

Jona and Johan spent the whole noon training at the gym.

*huff* *huff* *huff*

“It’s…. hard”, Jona complained and laid on the floor.

“Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it. This is your first time after all. Here, drink some water.”

Jona drank the water he handed.

“By the way Johan, how did you learn boxing?”

“by copying my friend’s moves.”

“Eh? Copy?”

“Yes. When I was younger, that friend of mine loves on showing off his boxing moves. I admired how strong and fast he was back then. I even practiced on doing those moves a lot of times.”, Johan said while looking at his palm.

“I see. But where is that friend of yours right now?”

“I cut ties with him”

Jona went silent and just looked at Johan. She can see the sadness in his eyes.

“And that friend….“, Johan continued. “.. was Zack.”

“What?”, Jona was surprised upon hearing Zack’s name.

“Yes. Mira was also my friend too… and… my first love”

“I-I see.”, Jona felt an ache on her chest.

She excused herself and went to the restroom to change her shirt. Johan watched Jona walking away.

‘Having a conversation with her feels nice. I feel like I found a new friend again’, Johan thought and smiled.
