After Rose and Hagrid finally got Harry from the dursleys, they went to diagonally. Harry got all his school stuff with money from his parents, and Hagrid dropped the two of them off at Kings Cross. "Welp, this is were I leave ye," Hagrid told them. He looked down at the two with a small smile, then dug around in his pockets and eventually pulled out two small train tickets. "Here ye go you two." He handed Rose and Harry one each, both of which took them enthusiastically. Soon though, Rose and Harry looked at the tickets in confusion, squinting at the lettering. Platform 9 3/4? Was there really such a thing?
"Hagrid, there has to be a mistake. There is no platform 9 3/4, is there?" Harry asked, but all too late as when they looked up, Hagrid was gone.
Harry and Rose looked around in confusion, trying to spot the large man before giving up and setting off, looking for the platform. "..Place packed with muggles just like last year..." a short, rather plump woman with fiery red hair complained loudly. She was followed by five children, all with the same red hair. Harry and Rose looked at each other, then followed the red haired family after a moments hesitation. The family stood between platforms nine and ten, all looking anxiously towards the wall which separated the two platforms. "Alright Percy, you first dear," the woman called. Percy strode over to the wall and started into a run and went through it. 'That's not something you see everyday.' Rose thought in bewilderment. "Okay Fred, you next," the women said once again.
"He's not Fred, I am!" said one of the twins will a sly grin, sharing a glance with his brother. Said brother snickered and covered it up by faking a cough.
"Seriously woman, and you call yourself our mother." the other twin smirked, leaning casually against his trolley.
"Oh, sorry George." their mother sighed in an exasperated tone, waving them off and motioning towards the wall.
"I'm only jokin," the first twin chimed, "I am Fred." then he went through the barrier, followed by his twin while their mother watched with a stern and disapproving face. Harry and Rose walked over to the women, and Harry pushed Rose towards her so she could speak to the woman herself.
"Thanks Harry," Rose mumbled grumpily under her breath, a blush rising to her cheeks in embarrassment.
"H-hello?" Rose said shyly, causing the mother to turn around and smile down at Rose, her hand resting on her daughters shoulder.
"Yes, dear?" The woman asked, bending down to Rose's height.
"Um...how do you..." Rose asked nervously, pointing to the wall and biting my lip.
"Oh, how to get to the platform, dear?" She chuckled, to which Rose nodded. "Not to worry dear, it's Ron's first time as well," The red headed woman told her, pointing to Ron. "Now all you've got to do is run strait at the wall...do it in a bit of a run if your scared!" She instructed. Rose grabbed Harry's hand, nodding at the woman. Both seemed to be thinking the same thing, as both ran at the wall full speed at the same time. Rose closed her eyes, waiting to crash, but surprisingly there was nothing. She opened her eyes to see that there was a giant, scarlet train before the two of them. Rose squealed and looked over at Harry, who was smiling like a madman beside her.
"Come on Harry!" Rose giggled, pulling him to the train with one hand while pushing her trolley with the other. After a while they found a compartment that was empty, and put their things on the small shelf within the compartment.
Afterwards they sat down opposite each other, jabbering excitedly about how awesome this whole situation was when there was a slight tap on the door, and it was slid open to reveal Ron. "Can I sit here? Everywhere else is full..." He asked sheepishly. Rose nodded at him with a smile smile, gesturing to the seat beside her. "Ron Weasley." Ron introduced, plopping down next to Rose.
"Rose Black," she told him, her smile widening.
"Harry Potter." Ron stared in shock, mouth hanging open comically at the two.
"Bloody Hell," Ron whispered in amazement. "Do - do you really...have the - the-" Ron paused, looking as though he was struggling to speak as he leaned forward.
"The what?" Harry asked in confusion. Ron leaned even closer and whisperd,
"The scars?" Rose pulled the hair from her right cheek, where a small, barely noticeable scar that strangely resembled a rose lay. Harry pulled his bangs back, revealing a lightning bolt shaped scar. "Wicked!" Ron practically yelled, falling back to rest his head on the seat in pure wonder. Rose and Harry shared an amused glance and chuckled at Ron's antics. Rose had a feeling they were all going to be good friends.
