Eventually Ron, Harry, Fang and I all walked into the forbidden forest, following a trail of spiders. We ended up losing them multiple times, but we always found the trail again. We finally had the smart idea to light the tips of our wands, well, all of us but Ron. He had snapped his wand almost in half when he landed on it falling down a hill. The trees got gradually thicker until the stars disappeared and all the light we had came from our wands and the little light the lantern Ron was using to guide us through the dark abyss of trees and other plants. The ground started sloping downwards, and I had to hold onto Harry so I didn't lose my balance multiple times.

Fang suddenly let lose a loud, echoing bark. "Bloody hell, dog!" Ron yelped.

"Harry...what's that?" I asked him, pointing to the multiple moving shadows we could see. Before I could react there was an odd clicking sound behind me, and I was lifted into the air by long, hairy, legs? "Harry!" I yelped, struggling whilst Harry and Ron were picked up of the ground, and Fang, howling and yelping, was pulled into the shadows. The things carrying us marched forward, finally reaching a clearing in which I could see a leaf strewn ground, covered with what seemed to be an endless amount of spiders.

"H...Harry..." Ron wheezed as he saw the massive size of the spiders. We were all dropped to the ground, and Ron, Harry, Fang, and I hurriedly got into a huddle.

"Aragog!" One of the creatures who brought us here called. "Aragog!"

"Yes?" I raspy voice said from the middle of a giant web. The spider that arose from it was larger than any of the others, and as far as I could tell, he was blind.

"Men." The spider answered, clicking his pincers.

"Is it Hagrid?" Aragog asked, his milky white eyes wandering slightly.

"Strangers." The spider answered again.

"Kill them. I was asleep..." Aragog said.

"We're friends of Hagrid!" Harry shouted, standing up slowly, Ron and I following.

"Friends of Hagrid? He has never sent men into our hollow before..." Aragog said.

"Hagrid's in trouble!" I panted, "that's why we've come!"

"Hagrid in trouble? But why would he send you?" Aragog asked. Is that concern I hear?

"They think that Hagrid's been setting - a - a something on the students up at the castle. They've taken him to Azkaban." Harry answered, trying to stay calm. I stood behind him slightly, holding his hand tightly.

"But that was years ago! Years and years ago. I remember it well. That's why they made him leave the school. They believed that I was the monster that dwelled inside what they called 'The Chamber of Secrets'. They thought that Hagrid had opened the chamber and set me free." Aragog said, clicking his pincers angrily.

"So...so you're not the monster?" I asked quietly.

"I!" Aragog said angrily. "I was not born in the castle. I came from a distant land. A traveler gave me to Hagrid when I was an egg. Hagrid was only a boy, but he cared for me, hidden in a cupboard in the castle, feeding me on scraps from the table. Hagrid is my good friend, and a good man. When I was discovered, and blamed for the death of a girl, he protected me. I have lived here in the forest ever since, where Hagrid still visits me. He even found me a wife, Mosag, and you see how our family's grown. All through Hagrid's goodness..."

"And you've...you've never attacked anyone?" Harry asked, drawing a breath.

"Never." Croaked the old spider. "It would have been my instinct, but out of respect for Hagrid, I never harmed a human. The body of the girl was found in the bathroom. I never saw any part of the castle other than the cupboard in which I grew up. Our kind like the dark and quiet..."

"Well, do you know what did kill that girl?" I asked, keeping my voice steady though the spiders were closing in on all sides.

"The thing that lives in the castle is an ancient creature. One that us spiders fear above most." Aragog answered, sound annoyed and angry.

"But what is it?" Harry pressed.

"We do not speak of it!" Aragog snapped.

"Harry." Ron and I whispered, telling him to be quite.

"Right. We'll be going then." I said slowly, backing away.

"Go? I think not. My sons and daughters do not attack Hagrid on my command, but I cannot deny them fresh meat when it wanders so willingly into our mists." Aragog chuckled evilly. "Good-bye, friends of Hagrid." Harry and I reached for our wands, but we knew it would do no good. There was a sudden rumble and a flash of light, then out of the blackness Mr. Weasley's car skidded into sight, knocking over spiders left and right.

"Spider bowling? Alrighty then." I whispered to myself. "To the car!" I yelled. We all scrambled towards the car, letting Fang in the back with me while the boys rode up front.

"Go! Go! Go!" Ron yelled, snapping out of his shock. Finally. The car speed off, and we were soon out of the hallow, crashing through tons of branches and bushes. We were soon out of the forest, and the stars were visible once again.

"Out!" I shouted, opening my door and Fang ran out behind me, running into Hagrid's hut. The boys followed, and we watched as the car sped off into the forest again.

"Follow the Spiders." Ron said weakly. "I'll never forgive Hagrid for this. We're lucky to be alive."

"Hagrid probably thought Aragog wouldn't hurt friends of his." I snorted, I know, so lady like.

"See! That's Hagrid's problem! He always thinks monsters aren't as bad as they're made out to be! Now look where that got him! A cell in Azkaban!" Ron exclaimed grumpily. "What was the point of going there anyway?" Ron asked, wrapping his robe around himself tightly.

"To find out the truth. Hagrid never opened the chamber of secrets." I said, making myself go invisible. "C'mon, let's go back." I told them. They got the invisibility cloak, and we headed back to the castle.

We all plopped down on one of the arm chairs, starting to get drowsy. What hope did we have of solving this? Every time we got close, the answer slips away. I closed my eyes, thinking when I suddenly sat bolt upright, "Harry! Ron!" I yelped, causing both to jump up. "Aragog said that the girl that died, died in a bathroom. What if that girl never left?" I asked. Their faces showed shock after I pointed it out.

"You don't think - Moaning Myrtyle!?"
