Sidney's POV:

Greg, one of my friends at the boarding school, called me in the middle of the night. Of course, I thought it was an emergency because he never really call me unless it was very important.

It turns out that he had just arrived here too. What a great surprise to call someone in the middle of the night! That's why I woke up too early and prepared Ady a lunch. Marcus noticed it and gave me his teasing smirk. I rolled my eyes at him and asked him a favor to give the paper bag to Ady when he leaves.

Now, I'm driving to the city to meet Greg.

"Why are you taking so long?" He dragged his words out.

"I'm almost there." I impatiently tapped my hands on the steering wheel because the cars in front of me doesn't seem to be moving.

Out of outbursts, I honked repeatedly. The driver's door opened and it revealed a man with an apologetic smile. "Sorry sa abala, Miss. Naubasan na pala kasi ako ng gas eh."

I worryingly looked at the man and politely nodded. I offered him help but he said that he already called someone, so I maneuvered my car and drove ahead the man's car.

Thank goodness, Greg's motel is just a few more streets from where I am.

I knocked on the luxurious doors and there came Greg, with his signature smirk.

"Look who's here..."

"Damn, girl! This country been doing you good?" He did a full-body scan and asked me to twirl around.

I laughed at his remark. He asked me to enter the room where everything is polished and organized.

"So, why'd you come back?"

Greg is a Filipino too, but he has been in Canada for too long that he can't understand most Tagalog words anymore.

"Ugh! It's my sister. She's asking me to go back to the province to assist her with something important." He lazily slumped on the chair. He seems to be very tired.

I sympathetically smiled at him. "You know, maybe this could be good for you. You know...going back to your roots."

"Yeah, maybe. Plus, my sister really wants to introduce me to someone."

Should I introduce Adeline to him too? Nah, too soon.

"Wanna go out?" He offered his hand for me to take.

"Sure."

I should be at school, eating lunch with Adeline at the field...

"Something's troubling you, spill!" Greg playfully pushed my shoulders as we got near to my car.

"Nope." I shook my head.

"Do you want to go somewhere specific? Because I don't think you want to go to the mall-"

"We'll go to the mall."

I saw him mouth an 'Ok' before he opened the door to the passenger's side. Maybe I could buy something for her as a souvenir.

I smiled at the thought. I started the car's engine and drove us to the mall with a rush of excitement.

While Greg was in the other aisle of the store, I went to the side where there is random stuff around. Teddy bears, watches, headphones, bracelets...bracelets.

The sight of the minimalistic bracelet caught my eye. I picked it up and examined the thing clasped in the middle of it.

"A unicorn?" I smirked. Does she like unicorns?

It wasn't colored, it can be easily mistaken for a horse or something. Maybe it's not even a unicorn. I shrugged my shoulders and brought the bracelet with me.

"Hey, I'm just going to pay for this." I didn't wait for Greg's reply and made my way to the cashier. I bet she will like this.

"Who's that for?" I heard Greg curiously ask.

"Nonya." I plainly smiled, trying to hide the laugh I was about to let out.

"Seriously? You're still using that first-grader line?" Greg rolled his eyes and folded his arms.

I thanked the cashier person and we both made our way outside the store.

"Are you even going to tell me who was that for?"

I let out an inaudible growl and raised both my hands in defeat. "Alright, alright. It's for my childhood friend."

I heard him gasp and he just stared at me for like a whole minute.

"Um, Greg? You good there, man?" I tapped his shoulders repeatedly.

"Oh, my...is this the person you have been talking about none stop?"

I could feel my cheeks getting hotter at his sudden reveal, he's lucky we're in public or I'll kick him right there at the curb and leave him alone.

"Will you shut up if I said yes?"

He nodded like a kid which made me chuckle.

"Yeah, that's her."

Did I just see him do his little dance right on the sidewalk? People saw him but he just ignored them.

"Greg, stop that," I warned and he immediately stopped but the teasing smirk hasn't left his face yet.

We made our way to my car, then his phone started to ring. "Who's the devil?"

"Uh...oh! It's my sister."

I saw him tap on his screen and placed his phone a little further from his face. I kinda want to meet this sister of his, she must have the same vibe as Greg.

"Hey! Look who's here!"

Greg placed the phone in front of me, a little too close actually, I pressed his hand away a little and peeked at the person who was already talking to me.

"Hey, Sidney! Greg was right, you're actually very pretty!"

They are really siblings, the resemblance is too close, except that his sister has red-colored hair.

"Hey...nice to see you too...?"

"The name is Alex." She kindly smiled and I nodded.

I let them catch up while I prepare the car.

"We'll see you next week!" I saw Greg waved his hand in front of his phone. He walked to my car and sat on the chair with a loud thump.

"I'm going to prepare a small welcome party for her, will you go?"

I thought about it for a minute, but I guess saying 'Yes' won't harm me. In fact, I could invite Ady! She could finally meet Greg.

"Sure."
