Chapter 5

- Sis -

Audrey has just left home, she's about to start her first year in high school and she's looking forward to it. Middle school wasn't a particularly easy time for her, her classmates made those three years really hard to bear, but Audrey isn't as weak as she may seem on the surface, so she's managed to get through it while also getting some great school results.

She arrived at the entrance of the school, she chose scientific high school, she has always been good at it and she feels confident when it comes to calculations and everything related to arithmetic and geometry in general.

After the speech of the principal and the introductions of some professors, Audrey along with other students is directed to what will be their class. She's quite shy, in fact at each presentation she hesitates a bit before exposing herself, as the hours pass she feels like she's being watched, at first she doesn't pay much attention to it, after all she's looking around to get an idea of the others too, but when she arrives at the last hour it seems as if everyone is looking only at her, and what she perceives are not friendly looks.

The first month of school has passed and Audrey feels like she's back in middle school, she feels like she's living in an eternal dejavu, there are bullies here too and they decided to take it out on her, who was hoping to never have to experience that situation again, to never have to feel certain emotions again. She was about to have a meltdown, but a fortuitous coincidence came to her rescue.
One day, tired of her morning teasing and looking for a place to hide, she arrived in an area of the school where access was obviously forbidden, given the red ribbons placed to block the way. But now desperate, she crosses them and arrives at a small grassy area with a rusty bench. She immediately notices the presence of two other people, and worried that they might chase her away, she tries to leave before being discovered, but the attempt fails, one of them notices her. From that moment her life has changed completely.

"Sis but how the hell do you always get ten?"    (10 = A)
Destiny asks Audrey shocked by her school results

"what can I tell you when someone is a genius"
Audrey replies bragging, in response Destiny gives her a little punch on the shoulder, but so softly that Audrey almost laughs, Destiny would never hurt her even as a joke.

Nathan had already left because he was busy, so the two girls decided to walk home together, Audrey's house is a few blocks after Destiny's. This is very comforting to her because she knows that if she needs her big sister, distance is not an issue. Arriving in front of Destiny's house the two girls greet each other with a sweet hug as always and Audrey heads home. Halfway there, however, she remembers that she had to return the book that the other had lent her, so she starts to go back, wanting to return it right away knowing that if she waited she would forget about it again. But as soon as she arrives at her friend's house she sees that her friend has just left the house at full speed, she notices the expression on her face and immediately worries make their way into her thoughts, Audrey begins to run after her, the other one is too fast for her and has trouble keeping up, despite this she continues to run knowing perfectly well where the girl is going.
