Chapter 32

I shot up out of bed breathing heavily and with a shooting pain in my side Luke woke up seeing that my bandages were covered in blood and yelled for Eyeless Jack to get the bandages I leaned on Luke hearing the footsteps getting closer to my room. Luke placed his hand on my forehead feeling my body temperature Luke said "Your burning up" I wanted to fall back asleep but the shooting pain I was feeling in my side was keeping me awake. Eyeless Jack came into the room with the bandages and disinfectant Eyeless Jack took off the bloody bandage and tossed it into the trash while grabbing the disinfectant. Eyeless Jack said "This is going to hurt a lot" Eyeless Jack placed the cloth with the disinfectant on my wound I gripped Luke's arm trying not to scream so I wouldn't wake up the kids. Eyeless Jack then grabbed the bandages and started wrapping up my wound Eyeless Jack said "There your wound is cleaned up and you need to get some rest so your wound can heal properly and so your fever goes down". I nodded my head as I drifted back to sleep Luke placed a warm soft blanket on me and placed a cold cloth on my forehead to help with my fever. By the next morning, I woke up to the bed empty I looked over at my nightstand to see food placed in a few bowls on a tray I smiled knowing that it was from Luke and Eyeless Jack, I said "Well I guess I'm on bed rest for a while until my wound heals up". As I was eating it got me thinking my wounds usually heal within a day or two so why was this one taking longer to heal. Then I felt someone touch my shoulder I flinched as I pushed their hand away from my shoulder with my arm but as I looked up I noticed that it was Luke that had touch my shoulder. Luke said "sorry I didn't mean to scare you like that, is something on your mind" I said "it's my wound" Luke said "has it reopened again" I said "no but it has to do with the healing process" Luke sat down next to me on the bed. Luke said "your healing just fine" I said "no something is wrong normally when im injured my wounds heal back instantly but with this one" tears filled my eyes. Rose said "daddy why is mommy crying" we looked over and saw Rose standing in the doorway Luke said "mommy wishes she feels better soon so she can play with you and your brother". I said "mommy is going to get better soon Rose I promise" Rose went back downstairs to watch Ben play his video games while Hunter was taking a nap near by them Luke leaned over and placed a kiss on my cheek. Luke said "your fever has gone down so that's a good sign, and i'll be sure to tell Slender about your wound to see if he knows" I nodded my head as I laid back down in bed as Luke took the empty tray from my nightstand. I woke up in the middle of the night unable to sleep I looked over to the other side of the bed to see Luke was sleeping I moved over to the side of the bed where I was facing the door. I went to go get up until I felt Luke's arms around my waist Luke sat up in bed half asleep and half awake pulling me into his lap Luke said "where do you think your going". I said "I was going to get me something to drink" I started to blush as I felt his lips on my neck Luke said "and you didn't wake me up for me to get it for you" I said "I-I didn't want to bother you while you slept" my body started tembling.

Luke got up out of bed and walked downstairs to get me a glass of water I looked over at Rose seeing that she was asleep so many things were going through my mind tears started falling from my cheeks. Realizing the realitiy that Rose and possibly Hunter won't be able to live normal lives especially when they start school Luke walked back into the room seeing me in tears setting the glass of water down on the nightstand and rubbed my back. Luke said "what's wrong" I said "they aren't going to be able to live normal lives because of me" Luke said "everything is going to be okay" I said "no normal kid has wings growing out of their back Luke". More tears fell from my cheeks Luke pulled me into his lap gently still mindful of the wound on my side placing a kiss on my lips as I gave in, blushing a bit Luke pulled away so I could catch my breath Luke said "Rose will do just fine. Ever since she started going to school she's been doing really good at hiding her wings" I said "she's been hiding them for me" Luke said "she's smarter than you think Rose enjoy's the time she gets with you teaching her how to fly". I buried my face in Luke's chest as I started to calm down, I looked over at the nightstand seeing the glass of water I said "thank you for getting me something to drink" Luke smiled and patted my head. After I drank the water I laid back down to get some sleep still in Luke's warm embrace, by the time it was morning the bed was empty again I sat up in bed rubbing my eye's Slender teleported in my room. I froze up not knowing what to say to him, I was scared to look at him Slender said "Luke told me that you were conserned about your injery" I nodded Slender said "the reason your not healing like you normally do is because of Zalgo's influence". I knew it Zalgo is still trying to interfear I said "but since I'm back under your control everything should go back to normal right" Slender said "yes but since you were under his, it's going to take some time" I looked down at the bed taking it all in. Slender placed his hand on my shoulder causing me to look up at him Slender said "and I'm happy that you are alive and safe, you are one of my strongest units never forget that". Slender teleported out of my room leaving me with my thoughts the reason I've been healing so slow is because of Zalgo a light knock was placed on my door frame I told them to come in. Jane opened the door walking into my room before closing the door behind her Jane said "how you holding up" I said "like I could go on a walk or spread my wings right now but following Slender's orders for now". Jane said "things will go back to normal but not as fast as you want it to" I nodded looking out the window woundering if I would be put back on doing missions or if I will stay in the mansion.
