Mysterious Adventure Part 2

Chapter 43

Weeks had passed, and I was taking a nap on the couch and my wound was slowly healing Rose was sitting in front of the coffee table coloring while Eyeless Jack was watching her as Luke took Jade and Hunter to their doctor's appointments. Eyeless Jack said "What are you drawing there," Rose said "Mommy" Eyeless Jack leaned forward seeing that Rose was coloring the events that happened at Luke's house with Jeff. Rose said "Uncle Jack" Eyeless Jack said "What is it, Rose" Rose said "Will mommy be okay" Eyeless Jack said, "Your mom will be just fine she's strong and stubborn she's not going anywhere". Rose said "But what if the scary man comes back" Eyeless Jack said "Don't worry Rose you're safe he can't get to you or your mother" Eyeless Jack noticed that I shifted in my sleep causing my wound to reopen back up again. Eyeless Jack got up and walked into the bathroom to get the first aid kit and walked back into the living room Rose watched as Eyeless Jack changed the bloody bandage around my waist I gripped onto the couch in my sleep. When Eyeless Jack was done he threw out the bloodied bandages and walked back over to the living room seeing Rose in tears Eyeless Jack said "Hey what's wrong" Rose said, "If I stayed hidden Mommy wouldn't have gotten h-hurt". Eyeless Jack said "Your mom did what she had to do to protect you" Rose said, "B-but" Eyeless Jack said "and she'd do it again in a heartbeat to keep you and your siblings safe". Rose continued to cry as Eyeless Jack pulled Rose in for a hug picked her up and sat down in the chair rubbing her back until Rose cried herself to sleep. It wasn't long until Luke returned from the doctor's appointment with Hunter and Jade as he walked upstairs with them putting them to bed Luke walked back downstairs seeing that Rose was asleep on Eyeless Jack. Luke said "She tired herself out hmm," Eyeless Jack said "cried herself to sleep Rose blamed herself that Jeff hurt her mother" Luke said, "Rose shouldn't have seen that, I thought they would be safe at my parents". The two of them kept talking until it was time to put Rose to bed upstairs Luke watched as I slept on the couch trying not to move as much since the pain in my side was still there Luke placed his hand on my forehead and felt that it was a bit warm Luke said "your body is overheating a bit". It was in the middle of the night and woke up I sat up and got out of bed to get something to drink but I didn't make it far as my vision was blurry and I felt dizzy causing me to fall on the floor. I heard footsteps rush over to me, I tried to sit up placing my hand on my open wound as my body was trembling Luke said "You shouldn't be out of bed" I said "i-im f-fine". Luke placed his hand on my forehead feeling that I was burning up Luke said "your running a high fever" Luke removed the old bandages and placed on new ones. I could hear cries in the next room over and heard that it was Rose calling out to me Luke went to go check on Rose to let her know that everything was fine. 

I started to drift off to sleep until I heard Luke walk back into the room seeing that he had a cup of water in his hand Luke said "Here drink some water and get more rest" I sat up in bed and drank the water when I was done I placed the empty cup on the nightstand. Luke watched as I laid back down in bed my eyelids becoming heavy finally drifting back to sleep, as morning came around I sat up in bed carefully feeling more like shit, the pain in my side was still there. A light knock was placed on my bedroom door I told them to come in as I looked over to see who it was, Masky walked into the room closing the door behind him. Masky said "You look like shit," I said "I feel like shit," Masky said, "The others told me what happened with Jeff" I went to go sit up more as I felt a sharp pain run through my body causing me to stop. Masky walked over to the bed and sat down in front of me I watched as Masky pulled something out of his pocket from his jacket I said "What is that" Masky said "Medicine". Masky pulled out a vile that had a dark liquid inside of it I said "That's supposed to be medicine" Masky said "Yes and your going to take it" I was a bit hesitant at first but I took the medicine anyway. The taste was bitter almost causing me to throw it back up but I washed it down with some water Masky grabbed for me from the bathroom sink connected to my room. Masky said "Just rest up now alright" I nodded my head as the medicine was making me feel more tired than usual my mind was trying to force me to stay awake but my body had other ideas as I passed out asleep. Masky then left the room once he saw that I was passed out as Masky walked out of the room Luke was standing in the doorway getting ready to walk into the room. Luke said "Masky what were you doing in her room," Masky said "Don't worry about it" Luke walked over to me seeing that I was asleep until he looked over at the nightstand and saw an empty vile sitting on top. Luke grabbed the empty vile and walked over to Masky wanting answers Luke said "Hey Masky the hell did you give her" Masky said, "She wanted something strong to stop the pain so that's what I did". Luke said "The medicine I've been giving her is doing just fine," Masky said, "that human medicine isn't doing shit it barely touches it let alone if it touches it at all". Luke stood there not saying anything knowing that I wasn't human considering the fact that no normal human being has wings growing out of their backs and has the ability to turn into animals at will. Masky walked off leaving Luke standing in the hallway Luke walked into the room closing the door behind him and walked over to the bed making sure that I was okay. I was still passed out but I felt someone lay down next to me as they pulled me closer to them gently and carefully the pain in my side was numb from the medicine Masky gave me.
