Chapter 54

After a while, I was able to stop throwing up my body felt warm against the tiles Jeff said, "Still think you're not pregnant" Jane said, "Jeff, just fucking drop it!" Smile dog walked in and nudged my arm with his muzzle, making sure that I was okay I said, "Hey boy.... mmm.... I'm okay, I promise". The next morning, I woke up with my body overheating, and a cough escaped my lips I curled up more in bed as Smile dog stayed next to me the entire time as Slender entered my room Smile dog just stared at him, knowing full well not to turn on the head of the household. Slender said, "You are sick with fever and are to stay in bed until this fever passes" I said, "What about the kids someone needs to-" another cough came up my throat Slender said, "I will send Jane to pick up the kids from school and daycare" I nodded and fell back asleep while Slender walked out of my room closing the door behind him closed leaving it cracked just a tiny bit. Time went by as I was still asleep, but at some point in the night, I fell out of bed hitting the floor with a thud causing Smile dog to get up and nudge me, but I wouldn't wake up so he went downstairs and saw that Masky was still up as he walked over to him and nipped at his pant leg and pawed at him. Masky looked down at him and saw that he was trying to get him to follow and he did, though Smile dog pulled on Masky's sleeve as if telling him to move faster once the two reached your room Smile dog walked in and tried nudging me again but I still didn't move then Masky stepped in trying to figure out how to pick me up without setting off Smile dog. Finally, Masky was able to pick me up as my head lulled on his shoulder, while murmurs slipped from my lips Smile dog kept a watchful eye on Masky, making sure I made it to the bed from his arms, as Masky was placing me back in bed, a word slipped from my lips that made Masky pause, "nick" I murmured again. Masky was a bit confused as to why I would be saying that name, as that name has brought so much hurt to me, and here I am saying the man's name in my sleep Masky covered me up with the blankets and went to find Jane downstairs Masky said, "Hey Jane, we have a problem" Jane said "what kind of problem" Masky said "shes saying his name again" Jane said "whos name" Masky gave her the look of 'you should know this answer' Jane said "oooooooh was it hatred?" Masky shook his head no. Jane said, "oooh thats a problem" Masky said, "she didnt say it with hatred... she said it calmly, Jane" Jane said, "Does this mean she forgave him? after all hes done to her and put her through" Masky said, "I don't know, Jane, but somethings not adding up" Jane said, "Smile dog is still protective of her and pets only show that kind of proctection when someone is..." Jane didnt dare say it as she knew I wasnt pregnant Masky said "true but wouldnt Grinny cat also be next to her as well". The two of them decided to drop it for now, as the discussion was going to get them nowhere, and thought it would be best to ask me when I was feeling better and up on my feet again instead of trying to piece it together themselves.
