Chapter 52

Days turned into weeks as everyone fell back into their normal routines, well, almost normal when Trender was over with his household to visit, I was already gone on a mission or went to check on the borders for the mansion Luke knew why I was avoiding him, and Rose, Hunter, and Jade were reluctant to go near him as they felt abandoned by him. Luke walked up to Jane hoping to break the distance between us Luke said "um Jane I didnt mean to make her upset" Jane said "should have thought of that before you slept with another women" Luke said "what do you mean other women" Jane said "the women she saw you with weeks ago" Luke said "my cousin" Jane fell quiet for a moment then Hoodie jumped in Hoodie said "you should probably go tell her that" Luke nodded slowly and went to go find me. I was sitting up in a tree trying to keep my mind occupied until I heard foot steps coming up from behind me I grab my knife as I look down to see that its Luke I said "the hell do you want Luke cant you see that i am busy" Luke said "the girl you saw at my house she was--" I said "i know what i saw Luke". I looked away from him I said, "Knowing you looked happy with someone else that isn't me hurts like hell" Luke said, "She was my cousin" before I flew off, I looked back over to him I said "what" Luke said "she was my cousin my aunt was in town with her and decided to drop by". I stared at him for a moment I said, "You promise" Luke said, "I promise" Luke knew that trust was something that he was going to have to earn back from me, and for us to go back to dating was still out of the question before I could let him back in again. I said, "You missed a lot with the kids, you know, Rose and Hunter kept on asking me if their father was ever going to come back, if you loved us anymore". Luke nodded, apologizing for being gone, but also stated that he got a new number, which is why he never received our calls or texts I threw my knife in the opposite direction that me and Luke were standing as I hit someone in the shoulder. I walked over to them and stabbed the intruder in the chest as I pulled my knife out of him and left them there to bleed out I said, "Let's head back to the mansion im getting hungry" Luke followed behind, but not close either, as we walked back to the mansion the others were still talking and Eyeless jack and Ben were keeping the kids occupied with video games. I quickly walked into the kitchen and grabbed myself a plate of food, then I walked back into the living room and perched myself on the couch Luke also went to get a plate of food but sat on the other side of the living room. Once everything settled down, I put the kids to bed and went to check on Jade one more time before heading back to my own room for the night, as I plopped down on my own bed, letting out a loud sigh as I stared up at the ceiling and soon fell asleep.
