Chapter 58

A few weeks had gone by, staying with Nick, as Lilly's immune system was still working on building itself I was out hunting, returning with a rabbit I had killed outside of the cabin, when I made my way back inside the cabin I heard Lilly crying upstairs I dropped the rabbit on the counter and ran upstairs to see what was wrong. When I had reached the bedroom, Nick was already picking her up holding her and Lilly slowly stopped crying Nick said, "shh its okay, Lilly" I managed to calm myself down before walking over to him I said, "Everything okay". Nick said "yeah she just wanted to be held" I said "theres a rabbit on the counter downstairs" I cleaned myself up and changed into clean clothes I walked over to Nick as he handed Lilly over to me. Nick went downstairs to cut up the rabbit I sat down on the bed with Lilly and I started feeding her I said "what am I going to do, their going to ask questions and I don't know if I can answer them" Slender was radio silent which is making me believe he hates me. In the middle of the night I couldnt sleep I stayed awake looking outside the window not that I don't hate sleep its just something that doesnt come that easily anymore in the background Lilly started crying I moved away from the window and walked into her room. I walked over to her crib as I picked her up gently Lilly kept on crying until I started rocking her in my arms I said "Lilly baby its late you need your rest" she hiccuped in responce like she was agreeing that I needed the same thing I would sleep but knowing that Zalgo is still out there possibly looking for me was something I couldn't risk especially my kids. I moved away from the window as I placed Lilly back into bed as she fell back asleep once I covered her back up I walked into the bedroom and sat down on the bed still thinking on what I should do Lilly isn't going to know any of them and get scared and I couldn't take her to Luke's place because they would ask questions. Nick walks back into the room with blood on his hands seeing that he manages to cut up the rabbit I had killed earlier Nick said "rabbit was tougher than it looked" I said "good it will be needed for the stew tomorrow". Nick said "she back to sleep" I said "for now" the room was quiet a bit longer and tense for a bit I said "don't think because I am willingly staying here changes anything" Nick said "I wouldn't expect nothing less". I stretched out my wings as a few loose feathers fell to the ground it was less than usual but enough to still clutter around my feet I laid down on the bed as I attempted to get more sleep even if it was just a few hours. Few hours went by as I woke up to see Lilly was next to me I quickly sat up in bed and yelled for Nick as he came running up the stair I said "how the fuck did she get in the bed" Nick said "oh I put her there". I smacked him on the back of his head I said "do you not know how dangerous that is" Nick said "I surrounded her with pillows and a blanket" I exhaled deeply as I tried to calm my nerves.
