Chapter 7

IRENE

I left everything to look for her in an unfamiliar country to me. I was so scared to travel alone but determined to find her and ask her about her confession. I was wondering what came into her that she left without informing me. How could Lisa do that to me if she really loves me? I swear to God my friends were all in shock when I told them I won't marry Seulgi. They asked me so many things and I couldn't answer them because first, I don't want them to picture Seulgi as a bad person. Second, they might misunderstand if I would say I am in love with my best friend. I need confirmation first from Lisa. But all my fears vanished when I met her again though it was awful that she made me believe she lost her memories. I honestly wanted to smack her hard but I understood why she did it.

The only regret I had is not realizing things sooner and letting things drag on longer. I am always with the right person but never in a relationship with her. That's what lacking in my relationship with Seulgi. I made myself believe that we were perfect for each other and that despite our distance she and I could withstand all the difficulties.

I was watching Lisa as she bought our snacks from the hotdog stall. Anyone who sees her could really die because of how breathtakingly she is. Some said she looks like a human Barbie doll. But to me, her beauty is beyond incomparable.

"Here, Hyun" She handed me the hotdog.

"Feed me, please. My hands are all tied up." She looked at me weirdly.

"You are not holding anything. Don't fool around help yourself, Joohyun."

"But I want you to feed me, Lis," I whined and clung onto her arm. "I know you can never resist my cuteness."

She gave me that stop acting like a kid but her expression softened. And bit my hotdog. "Alright, let's share then. I don't think you can finish it."

My eyes grew wide. She's such a rascal. She was eating what was mine. "What are you doing, Lisa? I told you to feed me not to eat my share." I wanted to stomp my feet. But there were people around and I didn't like them to have the impression that I am childish. She's really testing my patience.

She bit the hotdog halfway. "Come on, get it." She still managed to say it despite the hotdog stuck in her mouth. "Don't you like to have an indirect kiss from me in broad daylight?" She teased.

I swore Lisa really was having a good time doing that intentionally to me. She knew how to play it down while testing my patience. "I hope you got choked." I was beyond annoyed. She said she loves me back but she has been nothing but an ass most of the time. I don't know how anyone could start a relationship with your immature best friend. I walked away to get myself some fresh air.

"Hey, I was joking. Here take this one. I haven't touched it." She looked guilty as she was pouting and all I wanted to do was kiss those damn lips. I was annoyed but I am too whipped for her. She let me bite a little and wiped the mayo on the side of my lips. "You're such a messy eater, Joohyun." She giggled. "How was it? I heard that's the famous hotdog stall here. We can try other flavors too." She suggested.

"Lis," I tugged her loose shirt.

"Hmmmmm..."

"This is the reason why I didn't notice you have feelings for me." I gritted my teeth with obvious agitation.

She chuckled, "Is not like everyone could throw themselves out in the open. I lowkey love you, Joohyun and I have my unique ways of showing you that" She bumped my nose with hers. I blushed but hid my excitement over her small gesture. Lisa wasn't the showy type of person. It's true she had ways of showing how she values a person. There's nothing left to prove when she almost died for me.
