Chapter 37

Third Person's POV

Lisa arrived at Manoban's Mansion out of breath. She didn't care about leaving Taehyung devastated. A lot of things had been running in her head to even think of other people. Right after she got out of the cab she sprinted all the way from the gate. She didn't greet the security guards that she usually greets whenever she's back. Also, she couldn't help but notice there were unfamiliar vehicles and some belonged to the media. As far as she could remember no one in their family is celebrating a birthday. Sakura could have given her a heads-up if she must attend an event. And they normally threw a party at the hotel functions. So she kinda felt it was strange. She was feeling jittery and anxious if her girlfriend is doing okay. Not getting any messages from Irene made her more worried that her grandfather did something to her. She had no idea what to expect that night. But each time she gets closer to the mansion she is obviously more tense. A part of her felt that maybe it was about time to fight for her own happiness. Maybe her grandfather knows about them dating or maybe not.

Her mom, dad, and the rest of the significant family members were also present at the receiving area. There were also business partners present and some colleagues. Guests were chatting and drinking mindlessly. And her eyes immediately searched for a specific person. She saw Irene and then there was Bogum seating next to her. She was able to finally breathe properly seeing she looked just fine. She couldn't help but smile at the small woman. She wanted to talk to her eagerly and ask why she was summoned by her grandfather.

Irene's face glowed upon seeing Lisa. She was eager to approach her too but Bogum reminded her to stay put.
"Irene just stay here."

"Why? Can't I just go to her?"

"There must be something going on. I was asked to fetch you and everyone else's was invited." Bogum explained.

"I don't feel good about this," Irene commented.

"Me, either."

Then everybody's attention turned to the noise just outside the mansion. They could hear a woman complaining about why she was brought to the place. Lisa looked at where the voice was coming from. She was just as surprised as Joy. She was worried that the celebrity was being harassed by these men. She of course would not let it slide inside their premises. She wanted to ask a question but Joy beat her to it.

"Lisa, what are you doing here? I thought you must go home and see Irene?" She got away from the bodyguards who forced her to walk forward. Another vehicle just arrived consisting of Joy's parents. "Mom, Dad where are we?"

"Joy, keep your voice down. People are watching." Mrs. Park reminded her daughter.

"Yeah, right. Also, you don't have to kidnap me like that if you want me to attend a party." She rolled her eyes. She was pissed because she didn't want to go elsewhere. She was forced to get inside the car and was brought to an unfamiliar location. She started to get uncomfortable when she spotted familiar reporters heading in her direction.

Lisa was completely lost as to why Joy was there too. "Should I ask you the same question? My family lives here." She looked at Joy and then acknowledged Joy's parents. They just smiled at Lisa.

Lisa's grandfather finally spoke seeing his expected guests already arrive. "Finally the women of the night arrive. Get inside please." Then he turned to greet the Parks. "It's been a while Jiyeol and Jana. We've been waiting for you."

"We are sorry for the delay Mr. Manoban. We have to find our daughter first. You know how busy she is being an A-list celebrity." Mr. Park apologized.

"That's alright, I am nothing but happy for my granddaughter." He seemed to be in good spirits.
