Chapter 9

Third Person's POV

Not too far from the unofficial lovers a stranger to them who happened to know them saw them acting all sweet to each other. First, the person was surprised to see them on a vacation knowing Irene should be busy with her upcoming wedding. And she couldn't process what she witnessed. She found it interesting knowing Irene is engaged to be married to her friend, Seulgi. She was getting all curious and secretly took some snaps of the couple.

She thought she could use these and ask Seulgi what was going on. Her friend Seulgi has not been in touch with her lately but she still cares for her. She felt that Seulgi does not deserve to be cheated on. She was disgusted at the sight of the lovers who she last saw getting inside the famous exotic restaurant.

"So have you decided what to eat?" Lisa asked curiously since they made a deal to eat the same food and Irene was having a hard time deciding.

"How about this strange-looking octopus?" Irene suggested. They were both leaning on the large tank and her attention was caught by the octopus. They entered the restaurant that offers fresh and exotic dishes. When they were checking a place to eat nearby it was the one being best recommended by the tourists who left reviews on the tourist app.

Lisa swallowed an invisible thick lump in her throat. She wasn't up for an exotic food adventure. She normally eats the same food every day but Irene is the adventurous one and would drag her along in everything. "Erh, how about mackerel or that one?" She pointed to the species she was familiar with. She kinda felt weird when there was another tank filled with weird-looking marine species. "Is that even edible?" Her nose crinkled as she studied the newly transferred sea urchins and the sea cucumbers from the open basins. It irked her to see the sea cucumbers crawling.

"Well, I am up for it but we should really try this, Lis." She was all hyped up and excited while Lisa felt so sick in the stomach.

"Are you okay? Do you want to sit or something?" Irene asked worriedly. She noticed Lisa wasn't comfortable.

"Oh, no. I am perfectly fine, Joohyun. Just order whatever. I'll eat anything with you." Lisa couldn't afford to disappoint Irene. There were several occasions when she would just watch her eat. She is not like Seulgi who could eat anything Irene asked her. Just the thought of the sea cucumbers made her want to puke already but for the love of Bae Joohyun, she'll try.

"Wow, I guess people really adopt some habits. And it makes me so happy, Lis. You're adjusting so well. I didn't hear a single complaint from you. You must be really up for this challenge, huh?"

Lisa just shrugged. She was glad that she was wearing a baseball cap. She was really getting pale at every passing second. She saw Irene gesture to the food attendant that she would order the octopus, sea cucumber, and sea urchin. She gulped and prayed she survive the day.

Irene gave her a side glance when she noticed Lisa's too quiet. "But you can just say no if you are hesitating. I won't force you to eat. The last time I forced you to eat the fried crickets and silkworms you got hospitalized for three days." She had a recollection of Lisa's unfortunate experience because of her.

Lisa removed her cap and showed her gummy smile. "I will eat everything without a problem. Whatever you enjoy eating then I'll be joining you." She assured.

"Aaah-ah," Irene squealed. "Dang! You're so sweet. I didn't know this side of yours."

"Duh, how would you even notice me when I was invisible if Seulgi is around." There was a little jealousy on Lisa's comment but she understood that Irene was too in love with Seulgi back then. And she had been working slowly on putting everything behind them. It's Irene's past and she has to deal with it no matter what. The most important thing for her right now is that Irene finally acknowledged and reciprocated her feelings.
