IRENE

I was glad I did go to see my girlfriend. She was really upset over something. What I just understood is that someone insulted her assistant. I would feel the same if anyone insulted my staff and Secretary Miyawaki isn't just her assistant. She considered all of her staff members like family. If there's something I learned about Lisa's attitude is how she treats everyone else fairly. Of course, I am being treated not just as a friend ever since. I am always the special one for her. It's just how she treats me from the very beginning that I overlooked. She had a big crush on me and so do I but we were too oblivious to our own feelings back then.

We were having our own little world when Ms. Miyawaki told us the client had been waiting to see her. I was ready to leave but the man talked to me a bit. And this man was none other than Kim Jennie's ex-husband. No wonder he looked so familiar. We once met at the recent Manoban's banquet.

I was on my way to the parking area when the same man ran after me. I wondered what he needed from me.

"Wait up, Attorney Bae." He was catching his breath.

"Yes, Mr. Kim?"

"Atty. Manoban declined to work with me." He had that hopeful look that he could get something from me.

"Well, that was fast," I commented and realized where the conversation was heading. He's a big joke. Of course, Lisa would decline after the firm already represented his ex-wife. "I don't think I can't help you either."

"What? But why? You are not working with the Manobans. You can't just turn down a client, Atty. Bae." He was disappointed.

"I have every right to choose who I wanted to work with especially to defend in the court,  Mr. Kim. And I don't see you as a potential client." I observed his face turn sour instantly. "You are rich, you'll find the best lawyers out there. Just leave out Atty. Manoban and I from the list." I chuckled. These powerful men really thought they could make women worship them. And beg for them to come back. No wonder why Kim Jennie filed for a divorce in the first place. She married a boy, not a man.

"Look, you are almost my type. And I am close to forgetting about Jennie and moving on with my life. I thought you were any different. Why do you act like women can be equal to men? To add on that I didn't like your friend's attitude." Hmph as if we like his attitude too.

That raised my brow and made my blood boil. "Excuse me?"

"What I am saying, is most women would love to get to know me. Whether I am married or not. And I was so surprised to be turned down by two ladies in a day." He was so agitated by the fact that Lisa and I were not interested in working for him.

"It's simply because there's nothing special about you Mr. Kim," I smirked. I didn't intend to be mean but I just wanted to rub it to his face that there are women who didn't find any man interesting. What can I do? I like girls. And I love Lisa. I don't find any person as hot as my girlfriend. I've been gay since I was a fetus. He was left stunned. I went to my car and drove home. Not really home but to Lisa's place. She prefers to stay there than to go back to the Manoban's place. She couldn't stand the pressure at home. And she wanted to paint whenever she has spare time. I glanced at the stuff I purchased prior dropping to by her office. I got her new brushes and paints.  And I didn't mention this to her. I planned to arrange everything in her secret room.

When I got inside her unit. I cleaned up first because we left our clothes scattered everywhere. We had a wild night together. I couldn't help but smile. Lisa and I are really in a mature relationship now. I don't usually barge inside her secret room. It was so dark that I needed to find the switch first. I couldn't remember when was the last time I got there. As the entire room got revealed by the lights. I was left in awe seeing her artwork. I didn't know my girlfriend is so invested in me. I was overwhelmed by the number of her works inspired by me. She's too whipped for me.
