IRENE

We were left alone in my room. And I quickly back hug my baby. I realized she was silently crying. "Are you crying, Baby?"  I held her face so I can see it clearly. My heart clenched seeing her like that. I could cry as well because I am always soft for her.

"Baby, we made progress! They know now. Your parents are too cute." Her voice was cracking. "We finally told your parents and they put their trust in me. I shouldn't mess up this time. I should really protect you and our relationship no matter what."

I smiled and I could only admire the wonderful being in front of me. "Of course, you'll do good. You always do." I felt teary-eyed too agreeing with her.

"It was a liberating feeling that your parents already know about us and they are very supportive. How I wish I have a family just like yours. My parents merely stand up for me. They are always afraid of Pops." She was pouting like a baby. I also felt that the world is unfair. She seemed to be close with her parents but they are powerless against her grandfather.

"And do you hate them because they aren't supportive?" I was just curious about her answer so I asked. But I know my girlfriend isn't the type who would hold a grudge against anyone.

"Sadly, I grew tired of hating on them. And I wouldn't be this independent if I still choose to stay and hope they would change and be on my side. I learned to only rely on myself." She sniffed.

"But you always have me." I reminded her. "You know I would stick with you through thick and thin." I want to cheer her up. I don't want to feel alone.

"Of course, I know you are here with me. You are my other half. I wouldn't function without you." She kissed my forehead. "I was glad you didn't get mad earlier. I know we had a fight already because of Sooyoung. And-"

I didn't let her finish. "I made sure to be more understanding. And seeing the situation that you were both clueless I was able to think properly." Being in a relationship with Lisa made me more mature. I don't want to be reckless with my decisions. "I saw shock Joy was. It was written all over her face. Nothing made any sense."

"Thank you!" She beamed at me.

"I should be saying that. Thank you for running away from the situation earlier. You assured me that you will see me afterward. I was worried you would get cornered and have no choice but to agree to a forced marriage." Many scenarios had already played in my head the moment I saw Joy arrive at the mansion. Thankfully none of those happened.

"After what just happened overnight. Do you think I will stay quiet without putting up a fight? It's my life and no one has the right to out me until I am ready to do it. Pops just crossed the line and he even announced to the entire world that I am not straight despite knowing I am not ready. I don't think they could stop me anymore. I don't care about my reputation. I decided to be with you even if they would be against us." She was so determined.

"I will support you whatever decision or path you would choose, Baby. We will walk together."

"Thank you, Baby!" She gave me a peck and wiped her tears away. "At least your whole family is supporting us. That's enough validation for me." And I couldn't agree more about that.

Incoming call

We were interrupted by a phone call and when she checked her phone screen we saw Jennie's incoming call.

"Go and answer it," I told her.

"Alright, you can go and take a shower first."

"I'll wait for you. I want us to have a shower together." I suggested and she just gave me a teasing smile before answering the call. She intended to put the call on a loudspeaker so I could hear their conversation.
