Chapter 39

Breakfast at Baes

Everyone was acting suspiciously at the dining table when having breakfast. Mr. Bae kept on wheezing while holding his laughter and his wife was reprimanding him a couple of times to keep his mouth shut. They were lowkey glancing at the new couple. Lisa just ignored the old couple,  she was more focused on her friend. "Sooyoung, you okay?" She knew that her friend wasn't feeling okay after her grandfather pulled out of such a stint with the media. She felt responsible for everything that Joy got involved in her family's mess.

Joy forced herself to smile as she reached for the toasted bread and Lisa helped her. She added a fried egg and cheese to it and carefully handed the plate to her friend. "I'm good." She assured Lisa. She wasn't so sure how she should react when Irene's whole family was present as well. She was really still sleepy but Yeri woke her up to join them for breakfast. She was not planning to eat anything but she didn't want to come off rude to the family who showed her nothing but kindness.

"You look ugly." Irene was in a very good mood and randomly commented on her sister who was busy eating in front of her. She noticed Yeri was poking her food and being picky again like a kid.

"Shut up," Yeri massaged her head. She didn't have the appetite. She wanted to get some sleep but she could not skip breakfast with her family. Her sister seldom visits them and their parents woke up early to prepare the food. In addition, they also have a celebrity guest in the house. "Make sure to have your room soundproof next time." Yeri savagely said.

Lisa's lips got burned by the coffee she was sipping. She put down the cup and cleaned up her mess. She clearly understood what Yeri meant. Irene turned red and glanced at her parents checking if they were also unable to get some sleep. And both were looking like zombies but didn't want to tease them. They knew how sensitive Irene is and Lisa isn't used to being teased by them. No wonder her father was wheezing.

Lisa mouthed sorry to both Joy and Yeri. She wasn't the loudest. It was only Irene. She was a moaning mess as usual. What Lisa forgot was Irene's room wasn't soundproof just like her room in her unit and their apartment. She was giving her best to satisfy her girlfriend last night and they made love until 4 am or 5 am. She wasn't sure because they both passed out from exhaustion. She couldn't look at Irene's parents. They were really wild and obviously, it caused trouble for everyone. No wonder Yeri was giving her sister a death glare and Joy kept yawning. She could not look straight into Mr. and Mrs. Bae's eyes. She was being conscious all the time and wanted the floor to open and swallow her instantly.

Mr. Bae didn't want them to feel uncomfortable. And he likes Lisa more compared to Seulgi. He diverted the topic to something else before Yeri and Irene would start bantering at each other. "Lisa, when you have free time please feel free to visit us anytime. Just a little catch-up or we can go fishing like usual." He suggested cooly.

"Sure, Uncle that would be great." Lisa smiled widely and tried to recover from shyness.

"Nuh, stop calling me uncle and my wife, auntie. Call us Dad and Mom moving forward. Anyway, you are considered part of the family. Also, my daughter here seems to finally get what she deserves and obviously happier with you." He totally approves of the relationship. And rooting for them to tie the knot in the near future.

"I, uhm well, alright. I will do that." Lisa was getting all shy once again. "I will also clear my schedule so I can accompany you when you go out fishing."

Irene's mother joined the conversation. "Please, darling so we can see our daughter more. No wonder she barely drops by." She then turned to their guest. "Also, Miss Joy, you are always welcome here in our house. You should join us on our next camping trip."
