Chapter 43

Third Person's POV

"Do we have everything we need?" Irene asked Sec. Cha. As she was just finished putting the label on the last box. They were both busy preparing their things as the courier will arrive to move out their stuff. With the short notice they got they must double their time to ensure they won't miss anything. Irene still could not believe she would be working in a province. Andong is a 3 hrs drive from Seoul. If they give them enough time Irene could have purchased their plane tickets but she was more worried about their belongings. She prefers to travel with it. So she hired a courier instead.

"Yep, I believe we are all set to go Atty. Bae." She was looking around as if waiting for someone else.

"Are you expecting someone to come for our send off, Sec. Cha?" Irene asked and also glanced at the office entrance.

"Not really but I thought Atty. Manoban would be delighted to see you off. For sure it would take us some time to settle in before we can visit the city." They will be moving away and would take few hours drive back to the city. Which is why they have their dedicated penthouse for the staff at where they can stay comfortably.

"She's not going to show up. Don't expect too much for someone who has been busy." She felt sad that she couldn't properly say goodbye to Lisa but work is work and she knows her girlfriend would understand somehow.

"Is there a problem, Atty. Bae?"

"Ah, there's none but I just felt like she's been hiding something from me. And we didn't have the leisure to even sit down and talk about my promotions and what it entails. All I know is I did my best to have at least a small talk about this but she has so many things to do."

"So she's not aware of the promotion?" The secretary could not believe that her boss's girlfriend does not know anything about the significant phase of her boss's career. "Should I help you tell this to Atty. Manoban before it's going to late? I am sure she will be delighted and would show up out of nowhere." She was hopeful that the couple's little misunderstanding would be then fixed.

"Nah, forget about it. Maybe some other time when I have her full attention. She's probably occupied saving the world. I mean saving her celebrity friend's crisis and busy hanging out with her therapist." Irene does not normally vent out about her personal life but it's just too frustrating not to be able to say goodbye to Lisa.

"Oh, are you actually being jealous Atty. Bae? This is rare. You were never jealous when you were dating Ms. Kang. That sexy mono-eyelid girl. How can I even forget it?" The secretary teased.

"Sexy, mono-eyelid girl?" She chuckled. "Maybe because I don't love Seulgi enough or maybe I just love Lisa too much. I don't know which is which." Irene was being uncertain.

"See, I know deep in your heart you are hoping that she would drop by and see you off. You can never hide your real feelings. Everybody knows you are over the moon but they don't have the idea who it is. Some also thought that you are still dating Ms. Kang."

"Huh, that's absurd." Irene scoffed. "People must learn to mind their own business. That was long over. Maybe they would change their opinion if I would introduce Lisa to everyone. I bet they would be stunned as well."

"Really, you will formally introduce Atty. Manoban to us?" The secretary got excited upon hearing a great chance that Irene will introduce Lisa to their colleagues. She knows her but has never exchange a single word with her. Also she wanted to brag their workmates that her boss is really dating an amazing person but due to the couple's situation they remained secretly dating in public. On top of that Lisa is known to be dating a very famous celebrity and that won't make a sense to their officemates.
