A/N: Happy July 4th!
Seconds after Iron Man and his team found Goblin, an alarm went off back at the campus letting everyone know that Zemo, Black Mask, Red Skull, Count Vertigo, and Joker all had been spotted at various places around the city. So? They did what they did best and prepared to kick some ass.
"Oliver, Roy, Clint, and Kate." Batman said. "Count Vertigo. Here's where he was last seen. You know what to do."
Oliver took the file Bruce gave him, nodded, and took off.
"Nat and Bucky." Steve began. "You guys are with me. We're going after Zemo."
"Clark, Diana, and Banner." Bruce W stated. "We need someone to go after Red Skull."
"Shouldn't be hard." Diana began. "I miss the joy of punching a nazi."
"Tim, Cassandra. Black Mask." Batman said.
"You're not worried about sending two kids by themselves?" Bruce Banner asked, not trying to downplay Tim and Cass, but being genuinely concerned after what happened to Jason.
"They're not kids. And I'd be more worried about Sionis when Orphan gets her hands on him." Batman explained.
Cassandra was mad about what they did to Jason. He may not have been the most... included member of the Batfamily, but he was still her brother. And she planned on getting some justice for him. Tim did too. But he's not as scary.
"That leaves Dick and Jason with me. If you're up for it that is." Batman finished.
"You couldn't leave me here if you tried." Jason said.
Batman grinned. It kinda shocked everyone. They didn't know Batman could physically do that.
"We need to work fast to make sure they don't get away." Steve continued the conversation. "Suit up."
While they were suiting up, Jason realized something.
"My suit is ruined." Jason said.
"I'm sure we'll find you something." Dick replied. "Did you bring an extra helmet?"
"Did I bring one?" Jason asked. "This was a mission gone wrong, not a fricken vacation! Of course I didn't 'bring' one."
"Fine, fine." Dick rolled his eyes. "Then just where your domino mask."
"I uh... I don't have one." Jason said.
"Why not?" Dick asked.
"I stopped wearing them. You guys said I looked stupid!" Jason defended himself.
"It was stupid. What's the point of the helmet then?" Dick questioned.
"The mask is if someone takes my helmet off. It keeps my identity a secret." Jason explained.
"One. Ninety percent of the time, the person who takes off your helmet, even in a fight, is you. Two. You're legally dead! Who cares if someone knows your identity?!?! Half the people you fight already do!" Dick ranted.
"Well I don't use it anymore and now it's a bad thing." Jason said.
Bruce came in a moment later.
"Bruce, Jay doesn't have a suit." Dick explained.
"Me and Stark already took care of that." Bruce smirked. He led Jason to a metal wardrobe and pushed a button. It opened up and inside was a new jacked out suit. It looked the same as Jason's last one, but it looked shinier and definitely had some cool upgrades.
"Wow." Jason said. He suited up and they were ready to go.
Iron Man, Thor, Falcon, Spider-man, and Scarlet Witch had all gone after Goblin. It took a little while, but they finally caught up to him. Goblin had lead them to an underpass that he then blew up. It collapsed on Wanda and Thor. They were ok, but they weren't able to keep going after Goblin. Tony, Peter, and Sam managed to keep on his tail.
Green Arrow, Haweyes, and Arsenal had found Count Vertigo. They had the numbers so that taking him down shouldn't have been too hard. The only thing that would change that would be how many lackeys he had with him. He was in some abandoned hotel when they found him. The lackeys were everywhere. Everytime they looked over it seemed as if they multiplied. They would have to plan this out accordingly.
Red Robin and Orphan found Black Mask not too far from where he had been spotted. The main problem for Black Mask wasn't how many lackeys he had, it was how well they were armed. Black Mask was always involved in illegal weapons trade, and it seemed like nothing was different in this universe. They would have to take a stealth approach. They didn't need the lackeys or the weapons. They just needed Black Mask.
Captain America, Black Widow, and Winter Soldier had just found Zemo. What the three saw shocked them. He seemed to be alone. No back up. No henchmen. It was almost too perfect. Which meant, more likely, too good to be true. There had to be some sort of catch. All three waited to engage, making sure that the situation they had walked into wasn't a trap. The last thing they needed was another Queens incident.
Wonder Woman, Superman, and Hulk went after Red Skull. They found him and his gang of modern days nazis in some sort of hollowed out parking garage. The job wouldn't be hard. They were probably the most powerful superheroes on their teams. If not one of them, then the strongests. They would probably be able to rap this up in five minutes. If that.
And lastly, Batman, Nightwing, and Red Hood were going after both Joker and Scarecrow. They were seen together at some warehouse. If that wasn't cliche enough, they had tracked them to what looked like a whole complex of warehouses. The three heroes had eyes on the henchmen, so they knew the Joker and Scarecrow had to be there, but they didn't have eyes on them. Not yet at least.
Iron Man, Spider-man, and Falcon cornered Green Goblin at an underpass. They thought they had the best of him, but they were wrong. He flew right towards Tony and jumped off of his board at the last minute to land on a building. The glider flew back and hit Tony's suit, sending him falling down to the ground below. Falcon went over to check on Iron Man and Spider-man swung up to meet Goblin on the roof.
"The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout." Goblin grinned. "Down came the Goblin and WIPED the spider out!" He lunged at him. Peter blocked his blow and grabbed his arm.
"Not this time." Peter stated. "I'm taking you in."
"Oh, I think you wanna do something better than that." Goblin smirked. "Why don't we try this again?" He pulled his arm back and kept taunting Peter. "Come on, itsy bitsy. Wipe the Goblin out!"
The arrow gang were trying to sneak into the base of Count Vertigo, but Roy was asking for attention.
"How come no one refers to us as North Americans? Like people from Asia are Asian. People from Europe are European. Why does no one call us North American?" Roy asked.
"Is this the kinda stuff you talk about with Jason?" Oliver asked. "Are these the questions your one shared brain cell comes up with?"
"Pretty much. I'm smart when I want to be. But most of the time, I'm good." Roy joked.
They were talking just a little too loud and drew the attention of a guard. They took him out pretty easily, but that drew the attention of more guards and more guards and so on. Soon they were battling with Count Vertigo. Well, at least three of them were. No one noticed when Clint snuck away to get the jump on Vertigo. He shot a sedative arrow into his neck while he was fighting Kate, Roy, and Oliver. He immediately slumped and Oliver caught him before he fell to the ground.
