Hajime found Oikawa down at the last step of the stairs, the same ones he needed a minute to walk up to. They seemed so far from up here.

But he wasn't so scared now. Huffing out a breath, he took a few seconds to stare at his partner's back and worked up the courage to shout so he was audible enough.

"Oikawa!"

Oikawa jerked but didn't turn around. When he stood up and finally turned around, Iwaizumi knew something was wrong.

His face was heartbreak.

Iwaizumi blinked.

"Iwa-chan!"

"Why are you crying?!" He yelled back.

"Iwa-chan!" Oikawa shouted again. His voice was strained. He dug his plans in his eyes as he cried loudly.

"OIKAWA!"

"I thought you—," Oikawa's face was a mess as he ran up the stairs, "I thought you— you left!"

Iwaizumi shook his head. The many many stairs didn't seem to end. It was nothing compared to the misery on Oikawa's face. He was worried the other would fall.

"OIKAWA!"

"IWA-CHAN!"

15 stairs.

"Oikawa! Don't run!"

"Iwa— Iwa-chan!"

"OIKAWA!"

"I THOUGHT YOU LEFT!"

"WHAT? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? TOORU!"

When the last ten stairs neared, he could see Oikawa's parted mouth and puffs of winter breaths coming out his of mouth. Light sweat gleamed on his face. His shirt was swished, tie swinging in the air behind him. Eyeliner smudged. Hair a mess.

God.

Iwaizumi swallowed, hands fisted at his sides.

Oikawa was way too beautiful.

"Tooru I—

His got cut off as Oikawa jumped on him and they both stumbled to the floor, Iwaizumi underneath him.

Oikawa's arms tightened around his neck. He sobbed.

Iwaizumi blinked for a second, wondering what went wrong in an hour and a half. He blinked again and then his mouth curved up slowly. Dropping his head to the floor in defeat, he raised a hand to the back of Oikawa's head and patted his hair down.

"You thought I left?"

Oikawa's breathing was heavy and rapid.

"What makes you think I can leave you?"

Oikawa sniffled, raising his tear streaked face up to look Iwaizumi in the eyes, "Your father— I thought he lied to distract me, I thought he took you—

"Tooru."

". . . Iwa-chan."

"Tooru." He got up and pulled Oikawa with him.

"You're here."

"I am here." He smiled, holding the other's hand tightly as they both ran to their left to get behind the building.

Giggling like little kids with crushes.

It was dark, the moon being the only source of light. The back area was surrounded by trees and grass. Oikawa laughed. Iwaizumi shushed him, smiling himself.
