The thing about parents, Oikawa realised, was that you can't seem to hate them.

Sure you can curse them out. You can vow to never see their face, never pick up their calls. You can promise yourself you won't even go to their funeral because of the amount of hurt they caused you, they don't even deserve your presence at their death bed.

All of which are empty promises. You want to see their face but you don't realise who they are anymore. You want to hear their voice yet you cut the call the moment they say hello. You hate yourself for thinking about their death.

You want them to comfort you.

When they're the one who hurt you.

"Miss me?" Uki was smiling above him as soon as he entered. He ruffled Oikawa's hair.

"Not at all," Oikawa grinned at him.

"Sure," the older man laughed with glee and leaned down a bit to kiss his forehead, "I missed you. It's been so long." He took out a small wrapped envelope from his coat pocket and gave it to Oikawa.

He blinked, "what's this?"

Uki grinned, which was never good, and patted his shoulder, "you'll need it after tonight kid."

Oikawa rolled his eyes, pocketing the letter, "where is your ... your you know."

"Parking the car," Uki smiled, "tobio! Come meet your grandpa!"

"You are not!" Oikawa mocked.

Uki paid no attention to him as he walked into the hall, scooping up tobio in his arms, "my love, I'm your grandpa! do you like candy?"

"Why did that sound so creepy," Kiyoomi mumbled.

"Hello to you too, pretty," Uki smiled at him, "where's your mask?"

"It's...," he blushed, "I'm trying to get tobio to trust me."

Everyone awed at his comment and he rolled his eyes, "k-y-s all of you."

"Kill yourself?"

"Atsumu," Sakura smacked his head, "you can't say that in front of the kid"

"Ahh. That's why you spelled it out."

Kiyoomi sighed, "you're such a moron."

"Ok? A moron you're in love with so guess who is even a bigger m--"

"Shutup."

"I'm shut, baby."

Uki laughed, "you two are adorable," he took out a chocolate bar and gave it to tobio.

"Hey guys dinner's almost ready," Hajime came into the hall, taking off his apron, "Uki! hey, how are you?"

"Hajime! I missed you! You never visit! Shoyou misses you!"

Iwaizumi laughed, "yes I'm aware. His voice notes are so cute. Did you already meet tobio?"

"Ah. Yes! Didn't we love?," Uki smiled at tobio who nodded shyly.

"Hello."

They all turned around to see Hotaru who was carrying a fast slept Shoyou in his arms.

Oikawa stared at Hajime but couldn't read his expression.
