Christmas Tree Competition!

3rd person's pov

Eun-Jae shivered slightly as a large gust of wind blew past her while she walked beside her older brother, she rubbed her hands together trying to keep them warm and silently berated herself for not wearing gloves. Other than that, she could barely contain her excitement which was very obvious to three young men walking with her. Kyungsoo chuckled at his sister's behavior, watching her from the corner of his eye. In all things honest, he could not remember the last time he had seen her like this. Jimin also was very amused by her antics, happy to see Eun-jae so excited. They hadn't seen her so happy in a very long time, it seemed that even in her moments where she genuinely was happy, her smile didn't reach her eyes. It worried him when he saw that, no doubt the others have noticed that by now as well. "Why are you so excited about this stupid tree competition?" Yoongi quipped, he slowly shifted his gaze to the young woman he was so in love with. "It has been years since we've done this. Every year we always went all out with decorating whoever's tree had been taken home. The last time I did this was... When Kyungsoo Oppa was still living here." She explained, her eyes shifting to her older brother who chuckled at the fond memory. "I remember that. You were so crazy that year." He smiled, looking at his little sister. Both Jimin and Yoongi heard the two siblings carry on their conversation, just taking in the sight of a happy Eun-jae. Yoongi was pleased to see her so happy, he had been worried about her since she still was dealing with the death of her parents. He didn't know if Christmas was going to be a hard time of the year for her and her brother's, but it seemed that Eun-Jae was genuinely happy at the moment. Jimin looked around the area they were walking in when he spotted something out of the corner of his eye. His ears perked up, his tail fervently swishing behind him causing it to tap Yoongi's side repeatedly. Annoyed, Yoongi turned his head to Jimin to yell at him but stopped when he saw the look in Jimin's brown eyes. They were sparkling with excitement, happiness and he seemed so sure of whatever it was that was making him so happy. His eyes softened as he looked at Jimin, he had never seen that sparkle in Jimin's eyes before and it made him happy to see that Jimin was genuinely enjoying himself.

"I found one!!" Jimin shouted, turning everyone else's attention to him.

"Found what?" Kyungsoo asked, looking back at Jimin. "I found the tree!!!" Jimin took off running across the snowy field towards a beautiful eight foot Fir tree, which captured Eun-Jae and Kyungsoo's eyes.

"Wait, Jimin! You can't just take off like that!!" Yoongi shouted, taking off after Jimin to make sure he didn't get lost. Both siblings looked to one another, thinking for a moment taking off after Jimin and Yoongi. When they finally got to the tree, both siblings looked at in complete silence. Jimin fidgeted nervously, his tail swishing as he hoped that he had picked a really good tree. "It's beautiful!" Eun-Jae smiled, she let out an excited squeal, turning her body to Jimin. Yoongi smiled, his gums showing as he saw Eun-Jae tackle Jimin into a bear hug. Jimin chuckled at her actions, hugging her back and feeling proud of himself for finding it. Kyungsoo chuckled and examined the tree, walking around it to make sure that it was good enough to challenge their brother's with. "Good Job, Chim Chim!! You found a really great tree!" She kissed his cheeks, making Jimin blush. She then turned to her older brother, who had watched with an eyebrow quirked. He wondered why Eun-Jae had kissed Jimin's cheeks the way she did, but he pushed that thought out of his mind and gave her a light smile. "What do you think, Oppa? Is it the one?" She asked, "Yes, it is. Jimin really picked out a good one." Kyungsoo smiled at Jimin, who blushed lightly and felt very happy with the praise. "Let's call Hyung and the others." He pulled his phone out, dialing Xiumin's number.

With Xiumin, he and the others had eventually found Jungkook and Taehyung. Both at this point had found a tree and were judging whether it was good enough against the one that they found, "You think it's good?" Taehyung asked, his eyes shaking from his excitement. Chen tilted his head slightly, sucking his teeth and dropped his gaze to the tree he and Kyungsoo found. "Man, I have to say.." Chen started, both boys perking up at what he had to say. A moment of silence passed between the group, Hoseok shifting due to the uncomfortable silence as Taehyung and Jungkook were lightly tapping one another in anticipation of what Chen would say. "It's good.. But.." He started, "But?" Taehyung frowned, "It's not better than ours, right Hyung?" Chen tapped Xiumin on the chest, leaning on his older brother who had a look on his face like he was about to crush their dreams. "Actually.." Xiumin started, making Chen's smirk drop. He looked at Xiumin, his eyes slightly widening as he heard those words.

"Hyung, you can't be serious?!! How is their tree better than ours?!!" Chen whined, making Xiumin shake his head.

"Their tree is not only fuller than ours but it's eight feet! It's the perfect size." Xiumin's phone buzzed, so he pulled it out and smiled when he saw his sister's face pop up on the screen.

"Hold on, Jae is calling." Hearing her name, Namjoon and the others grew happy as they hadn't seen her in over an hour. Xiumin answered the face time, smiling as he saw Eun-Jae and Kyungsoo.

"Did you guys find a tree?" Chen asked, pushing his face into the screen. "Yes, we did. Jimin found it actually." Kyungsoo explained, a smirk crossing his lips. Taehyung and Jungkook immediately slumped upon hearing that Jimin found a tree, they knew Jimin was the king of finding good trees to hide in.

"What's with that smirk, Kyungie?" Xiumin asked.

"Well, that tree Jimin found.." He started, he chuckled and tilted his head. "It's best one that I've seen in years." Kyungsoo turned the phone around and aimed the camera at the tree, which got everyone to stare in awe. "Aww man," Chen whined, making Jungkook chuckle lightly. "What do you think Xiu Oppa?" Eun-Jae stepped in line of the camera, a smirk on her face. Xiumin smiled, shaking his head and laughed to himself. "You haven't even seen our tree yet!" Chen took the phone from Xiumin, showing them their tree and the tree that Jungkook and Tae had found.

"Looks like we win!" Eun-Jae smiled, "Hold On!" Chen argued, but Xiumin shook his head.

"No. She's right. Kyungie and Jae have won the competition this year." Xiumin stated, making his brother gape at him.

"What?!"

"Ah yeah!!!" Kyungsoo and Eun-Jae high fived, pulling each other into a large hug and smiled. Yoongi chuckled at her excitement and looked to Jimin, who was extremely happy with the outcome.

"Aw man." Hoseok mumbled.

"We're coming your way." 

"In your face Chen Oppa!! We won this year!!" Eun-Jae smiled, high fiving Kyungsoo and ended the call. Chen grumbled under his breath, glaring at the phone in his hand. Xiumin took the phone from Chen, chuckling lightly and patted him on the back of his shoulder. "Come on, Chen." The group began walking away, leaving Chen by himself. He stood in shock, staring at the back of his older brother's head before following after them.
