Eun-Jae's pov
Since Jin and Namjoon both started their heats, the house has been in total chaos. Most of the boys have been struggling to take care of both Jin and Namjoon since I went back to work and I only had a few weeks left before the school semester starts. I've been exhausted for the most part since Jin has been very protective, hardly lets me sleep and is always making out with me. Because of it, I've ended up sleeping in Yoongi's room a few times or on the couch after passing out from working late. I helped Baekhyun take down the Christmas decorations which we had left up for a while, I never wanted Christmas to end so soon and we all just felt exhausted because of the holiday rush. "Why did we wait so long to take those down?" Chanyeol asked, looking up at Baekhyun and I. Sehun was busy helping customers while Ra-Yeon took orders, Suho was holding the ladder that I was standing on. We had to call in a few more coworkers to help with the rush since it was beginning to get overwhelming for the six of us, lucky for us, Kai had offered to help and even Seulgi was helping. She doesn't even work here and was free for the day so she decided to come help, "Because we are lazy and would rather keep the decorations up till the next holiday." Taeho spoke up, walking past the ladders and handed a customer their order. He had returned just three days ago, taking us all by surprise but we were happy to see him. Taeho was an excellent boss and an even better person, so all of us, except Kai got along with him. Kai and Taeho have always seemed to have a problem with each other, so Kai ultimately decided it was best not to work at the café when they didn't get along. Taeho had been taking care of his mother and when he came back, he had to give us the news that she was only getting worse. He was going to be taking an extended leave the same week that I had my first few classes of the semester, so Chanyeol would be made Manager and Baekhyun would fill the roll of a General Manager to keep the café running smoothly until Taeho returned.
"That's so true." Baekhyun passed some decorations down to Kai, as I took down the wreath hanging around the clock. I handed the wreath to Suho, who placed it on the cart and waited for the next set of decorations. "I wish we hadn't waited so long." I let out a tiny sneeze as dust tickled my nose when I was moving the banner, "Bless you," Baekhyun smiled, "Thanks." I smiled back at him, I turned my attention back onto the decorations. I reached over trying to get to the other side of the banner which was still clipped to the wall, "Be careful, Jae." Taeho warned, "I'll be fine." I stood on my tippy toes and reached up for the side, smiling to myself when I got it unclipped. But just as I was about to pull it towards me, I lost my balance on the ladder and fell backwards.
"Jae!!!" Suho shouted.
The front door opened and in an instant I was caught in warm arms before I could hit the floor, when I opened my eyes, I sighed in relief. "Thanks," I looked at the person who caught me, confused as to why Taehyung was here. "No problem, babe." He placed me down on my feet and kissed my forehead, "Jae, are you alright?" Baekhyun asked, rushing over to the towards us. "Yeah, I'm just fine. Thanks to Tae." I said, "I told you to be careful up there, Jae. I don't want you to break something before you and your dance teams performance at the beginning of the semester." Taeho walked around the ladder, heading towards the front counter. "Yeah, sorry." I apologized, "Don't apologize. Just take it easy and be careful." He said, looking back at me. I nodded in response, "So who is the nice gentleman who caught you?" He asked, "This is Taehyung. He's one of Jae's hybrids. She's his mate." Suho explained casually, taking down the rest of the banner.
"Wait, one of? Just how many hybrids do you have?" Taeho looked at me.
"Seven." I said, "Seven hybrids?!! And only one is your mate?" Taeho exclaimed.
"No, you've got it all wrong, boss-man." Seulgi said, sauntering from the back, carrying a large platter of orders. "Our precious little Eun-Jae is a soulmate to all of her hybrids. Not just Taehyung. They are all involved romantically." Seulgi explained, walking away from the counter with a smile. "And your uncle knows about this?" Taeho asked, "No, he doesn't. My cousins know. But I'm not telling my Uncle. And neither are you, Taeho. I don't want my uncle ever finding out about them." Taeho nodded in understanding, "Don't worry, Jae. I won't tell your Uncle, you can relax." He grabbed the keys from the behind the counter, "Where are you going?" Suho asked, "There's some things I gotta check at the other cafe. I'll be back around 7." We said our goodbyes to Taeho as I turned my attention back to Taehyung, "Tae, what are you doing here? I thought you and Jimin stayed home to take care of Jin and Namjoon."
"We are, but we ran out of ingredients for soup. So Jimin hyung gave me some money and told me to go buy the stuff we needed. I was in the area and decided to stop by for a cup of hot chocolate." He gave me a cute smile which I could help but gush over, "Hey Sehun, could you make two hot chocolates to go please." I called, "No problem!" Sehun answered, I got up to pay the bill but Taehyung didn't let me.
"Cub, let me pay."
"No, I got it. You have to save that money for the ingredients for soup. It's fine, I can cover it. That second hot chocolate is for Jimin, so don't you dare drink it." I gave Baekhyun my card despite Taehyung's protests, "Cub. You really don't have to pay." He frowned, "I want to. You guys have been working hard taking care of Jin and Namjoon since I started back at work. You deserve everything." He grabbed my hand, intertwining our fingers and kissed my hand. Baekhyun gave me back my card as Sehun came over with the hot chocolate, "Now, get going before Jimin calls me in a panic for you not coming back." I pecked Taehyung on the lips, smiling when he pulled me into a kiss. "I'll see you when I get home." After Taehyung left, it seemed that business picked up once again and we were extremely busy.
"This is never gonna end is it?" Baekhyun whined, his ears flattening against his head as we looked out at the crowded cafe. "I don't think it will." Kai sighed.
