Far Away (BTS Hybrid Au)

Taehyung

Eun-Jae's pov

After shopping for another hour with Taehyung, we headed to the adoption center. I filled out all of the paper work, officially adopting him and he kept clinging to me the entire time we were there. I did make an appointment to take him to the vet, the next day since it was already so late. The next place we stopped by was the hybrid store, to buy his collar and toys he would like. He picked out a nice collar and I got it customized so that both of our names were on it. He also picked out a bunch if toys and other things that was needed for him. The crazy thing is that since his name was already Kim, he didn't need to change it all. I also picked up a few new toys for Yoongi and Jimin, and dog chews and other things for Hoseok since he keeps ripping all of his toys to pieces. Hoseok was a very mouthy golden retriever, whenever he was in his animal form, I usually had to chase him around if he picked up something to chew on. "You said you had three hybrids already? What are they like?" He asked, as I was driving us home. In the three hours that we got to spend together, Taehyung and I became very close. We shared a lot of information about our pasts, which was different from how I was when I first met Jimin and Yoongi. It took some time for them both to open up to me, but eventually Jimin opened up about his past. Taehyung has a bright personality, he's energetic like Hoseok and can be just as sweet as Jimin. He's fun-loving, very outgoing and I would say he has a 4D personality. Even in the little time that we were together, he was very affectionate with me. He actually had decided against scenting me since he hadn't met the other hybrids yet, he was worried that if he did, they would harm me in some way.

"Well, I have two cat hybrids and a dog hybrid. Jimin and Yoongi were my first hybrids. Jimin is a calico cat hybrid. He's very sweet, basically he's my best friend. You guys are the same age, so hopefully you two can be good friends. Although, he gets really protective of me. He doesn't always warm up exactly to new people very easily. Yoongi is a panther hybrid that was with Jimin when I first met them. He's 23, so he's the oldest in the house at the moment. He's a bit of a grump, but he gets along well with others. Then comes, Hoseok. He's a golden retriever hybrid and he's hyper, and he's 22."

"So you're the baby of the house?" Taehyung smiled, "Yes, I am." I said. "Hoseok and Jimin both don't get along very well. They can get aggressive with one another." I explained, making Taehyung frown. "I promise that no matter what happens, I will not let them harm you. Even though they all can get very mean and protective, they have never harmed another hybrid." I placed a hand over his large one, as we pulled up to the house. "Thank you." He smiled, the two of us got out of the car and unloaded everything. He stared in awe at the house, gasping as his tail flicked excitedly back and forth. I looked at him, a huge smile on my face as I saw the look in his eyes.

"Come on, Tae."

"Tae?" He turned to me, "You're already giving me a nickname?"

"Yeah, why not? You are my hybrid and you will be living with me. So giving you a nickname would be great." He smiled at me, letting out a giggle and I couldn't help but laugh at his giggle. It was so adorable. "Alright then, it's my turn to give you a nickname." He smiled, "And what would that be?" I asked, quirking my eyebrows at him. "Cub. Since you are the youngest in the house, your nickname will be Cub." He smiled, making me chuckle and shake my head at his excitement. Happily, the two of us headed up the stairs with bags of supplies and groceries. I put the bags down, unlocking the door and opened it. I stepped in first, putting the bags down as Taehyung followed in after me. He watched my movements, his ears perking as he heard fast footsteps. Just as I finally stepped out of the doorway and into the opening, I heard excited shouting. Taehyung grabbed the back of my shirt, sticking close as he had become nervous of the others.

"Pup!!! You're home!!!"

"Kit!! I missed you!!" Both Jimin and Hoseok appeared, their tails swishing happily as their eyes landed on my small figure. Both of them suddenly stiffened when they smelled the air, they lifted their eyes away from me and onto Taehyung. Hoseok stared at Taehyung with concern, wondering who he was while Jimin started hissing. He immediately took several steps forward, causing Taehyung to clutch my shirt tighter but not out of fear. Just like Hoseok had done when he was first met with hostility from Yoongi, Taehyung let out a deafening growl which made me jump. I forgot for a moment that he is a tiger hybrid, and tigers happen to have a roar that can paralyze their prey. And their growl is just as fear inducing and paralyzing as its roar. Jimin and Taehyung continued hissing and growling at one another, just as Yoongi showed up. "What is going on here? Why is Jimin hissing like that and why do I smell and hear another hybrid?" Yoongi came walking in, his hands were shoved in his hoodie pocket as he finally opened his eyes. First his eyes landed on me, before lifting them and was met with Taehyung. Taehyung flicked his eyes to Yoongi, the two staring at one another before Yoongi let out a growl as he saw how close Tae was standing next to me. Yoongi started to become much more aggressive, along with Jimin. The two of them were beginning to scare me, I could never calm both of them at the same time when they were angry. Whenever I tried it never turned out ending well, somehow, I would end up getting hurt by either one of them. Especially because Jimin gets really, really aggressive when it comes to protecting me while Yoongi only escalates a situation. It was hard to handle that. As if picking up on the small fear I held of those two attacking Taehyung, he pulled me back with one tug. He wrapped his arms around me tightly, pulling me into his chest as deep growls left him. Hoseok, who had finally snapped out of trance curled his lips into a slight smile, before he whacked Jimin and Yoongi on the back of the head. Both stopped growling, turning to Hoseok as Tae's growls died down.

"What the hell, Hoseok?"

"Yah, Hyung! What right do you have to hit me like that? Why'd you hit me?" Jimin shouted, rubbing the back of his head.

"You both terrify my poor pup when you get like this. Just like the time that you first met me, I was the only one who seemed to notice her fear because of both of you being aggressive like that." He started, "It seems our friend here noticed that too and instantly pulled her to him to protect her. Just like I did." Both Jimin and Yoongi looked at the position that I was in, and their eyes softened for a moment. "Who is that, Jae? Why is there another hybrid holding you like that?" Jimin snapped, glaring harshly at Taehyung.

"Don't tell me..." Yoongi groaned, "You thought right, Yoongs. This is Taehyung, your new brother."

"Nice to meet you, Taehyung. I'm Hoseok, this is Jimin and this is Yoongi. Welcome to the family." I smiled brightly at Hoseok, who was giving off his signature smile. Taehyung looked at me out of hesitation, but I nodded to let him know that Hoseok wouldn't hurt him.
