POV Lyria

I followed Azura as we walked up the stairs, we walked into what I assumed was Patrick and Azura's room with a cot in the corner, she carefully lifted Charlene and kissed her on the forehead before we went back downstairs. 

As we walked into the front room Azura handed Charlene to me, "I know you've been through a lot, Lyria, but it would mean the world to me if you look after Charlene for me. I'm close to tracking the crystal energy, and we'll....hopefully, be able to find where Crystal is holding dexter," Azura said handing me Charlene, I know every time she left her baby it broke her.

"We'll be fine, it's...nice looking after her," I said, smiling at the baby. "Oh have you told Patrick yet? about Charlene's power?" 

Azura shook her head. "Not yet, I'm unsure how to tell him I might wait until Charlie's awake," she answered.

"But...But Nostra doesn't think he'll wake up," I said 

Azura nodded "that's my point," She stopped and smiled at me "Thank you again Lyria," Azura said, she leaned down and kissed Charlene on the head, then hugged me before she left.

I looked down and booped Charalene's noise-making her laugh. "Now, your going to be a good girl aren't you? no complex space-time events you understand me?" I joked, she gripped the finger I just booped her with.

A few hours and night was starting to set in, I took Charlene up to Patrick and Azura, I had received a note from Ser Patrick, he'll be late to look after Charlene so I would be staying some time into the night, I put her into her cot.

and went downstairs to get something to eat, I was in the kitchen seeing what food they had a vegetarian like me could eat, When I walked back into the front room, a plate of food in my hands when a netherite sword swung at me. 

I lost the plate when I flinched back, the only weapon I had was the cutlery knife, but then I saw who was attacking me, it was Dexter, but she was wrong, her skin was grey, her eyes were no longer blue now red. I tried to speak the only thing that came out was a squeak like I was some squeaky toy.

"Dexter, don't kill your sister that's not why we're here," Crystal said, walking into sight. "hello Lyria," she said. I turned to her, still speechless, and Crystal was smiling. "Come now Lyria, why fight? you can come with us still," Crystal said. "Just tell me where Charlene is," Crystal said.

my hands were shaking, the cutlery knife was shaking so clearly, "N...No, Crystal...what did you do to my sister?" I could feel tears pricking at my eyes. 

Crystal sighed. "I'm sorry Lyria," Crystal took a step towards me and I turned to her, by the time I realised the mistake, it was too late, Decter smacked me around the head.

POV Rain

I had no planning of us stopping for the whole night, we were only a few hours from frostbourne, we're going back tonight. consider we have an amnesiac Kyle with us. Kyle seemed to know a few things but not much.

I was leaning against a tree, my mind thinking about our encounter with Crystal, I was quick to act, stabbing her like that, I hated her so much right now, beyond anything, she...she was so quick to turn on us again. I relived that moment, the moment Charlie got between Meeps and Crystal, taking that hit. 

"Why? why would you do something so stupid?" I asked. I know he wasn't here to answer, but I can imagine what he would say. 

"It wasn't stupid, I was doing what's right, protecting other," I could almost hear it in his smug and kind voice.

I never really told Charlie, that despite his flaws he was my friend, possibly my best friend, I curled up against my fist, and smacked the tree, he wouldn't me to do it, but I don't have a choice. All this is like what happened with me and Abigail, I don't want him going through the same thing, I will kill Crystal before Charlie wakes up, he will wake up, he might hate me for it but I can't let him go through this.
