a life time agosummer, although you won't know it from the weather, the country had been hit by a sudden unexpected snowstorm, although that didn't stop one couple from their even walk, They were in their late 20s, dressed in winter coats, Jeff and Bess.
they waded through the snow, playing almost, Snowballs were thrown and the two laughed, then a sound, a child, no a baby, crying, it was coming from in a bush, Bess moved it out of the way.
in a basket, there was a baby boy, he stopped crying when he saw them, his thin hair seemed to be a greyish blue, but only for a few moments as it seemed to turn blond, Bess and Jeff looked at each other then back down to the baby.
Bess reached out and plucked the baby from the basket, wrapped in a blanket with an odd symbol on it. "Who left you..." the hand Bess ran along the baby's face and pulled back. "They're cold, very cold,"
"We should get them inside, I'll call the police," Jeff said picking up the basket.
Bess being concerned enough already took her scarf off and wrapped it around the baby's Blanket.
the pair tread through the snow until they reached their home, Jeff went into the other room and used the landline to ring the police while Bess sat next to a fire pit trying to warm the baby up, She had taken him out of the blanket. "Honey," She called into the room. "This blanket has a name on it,"
Jeff stuck his head into the room. "Sorry honey but I didn't...Yes hello?" he said, with a deep Welsh accent, as someone clearly answered the phone.
"William?" Bess asked looking at the baby's pale blue eyes.
the baby tilted their head, and Bess smiled. "Why would anyone want to leave you alone in that weather?" she asked.
"Okay, Officer Adam is coming over to help," Jeff said.
William woke up, his body sweat-covered, he reached up for his hair, Was that real? he remembered the stories his mum would tell him about where she found him, but it looked and felt so real, Was it real?
he got up a looked out of the window. it was snowing, again, it hadn't stopped for days, Was he the one causing it? he put on his coat and went for a walk, he ended up on the balcony, not alone either. "Night William," Charlie said.
he was stood there in his coat, his umbrella in hand some snow settled on it. "Hey," William said.
"What's on your mind?" Charlie asked.
William sighed. "Something Lilith said, about me having a daughter,"
"You already prepared a team, Why are you thinking about it now?" Charlie asked.
William thought. "Because what if she was lying to me?"
Charlie sighed. "If it helps, I don't think she was lying,"
POV William
The morning had come and gone, I was still thinking. Patrick couldn't give me many supplies, just an airship and a handful of soldiers and Elytra corp, Lyria and Dexter are both coming, Dexter was sick of sitting around anyway.
Charlie, Moon, Sheila, Lyria, Dexter, Daryll, Wolf, Hilda, Shizuku and Damian.
Crystal had made the choice to stay behind, and it was clear why, She was still unsure about herself, the only record we have is Rylie was her passing through Port City, so our airship would take us around them and to what town she was apparently heading for.
the airship was waiting for us, along with a group to see us off, Razer, Crystal and the other Sheila Were there on one side with Charlie. Rain and Stella were talking to Lance and Ceris, clearly waiting to talk, Patrick talking with Hilda and Azura holding her daughter talking to Lyria and Dexter.
"This is stupid," Nether Kyle said, walking up behind me. "I should be going on this,"
"No," I said. "I can't trust you yet, and the way you treated Sheila," I added.
"I can't believe you'd take her with you instead," Kyle muttered. "How long have I...."
"She didn't try to kill me," I said. "Now leave me alone," I ordered.
POV Charlie
"Are you sure you don't want to come?" I asked holding Crystal's hand.
Crystal shook her head, looking back at Razer and Sheila talking. "Anyway, I want what time I can have with them before...before it's too late," She said.
I brought her into a tight long hug. "It feels like I only just got you back, I don't want to say goodbye again," I said.
Crystal hugged me back as tight. "Then don't think of it as a goodbye, more of a see you soon,"
We ended our hug, and I kissed her on the forehead. "Well then, you better still be here then," I joked. "I love you,"
"And I loved you," Crystal said
"Charlie, no dying, It would be annoying to bring you back," Razer said walking over.
"Oh please, it'll take more than this to kill me," I said. "I'll be back before you know it, look after each other for me,"
"We will," Razer said.
I nodded and went to bore the airship, William helping me on, and looked as the group stood back, Lyria and Dexter were standing at the helm of the airship talking with the pilot, Shizuku was standing next to her sister.
Hilda had her hands on her hips next to us, looking at the groups and saying goodbye to us. "They'll be fine without us right?" William asked
"They have Razer, Crystal, Rain, Stella and several more, they'll be fine," I said.
"I don't know who's more likely to die in this, us or them," Hilda muttered.
"Us," Damian muttered.
"Come now," I said. "This is a simple mission, just to find William's possible daughter," I said.
"ADVENTURE!" Lyria yelled, and the ship rocked taking off.
William stood way too close to the edge as we took off, looking as the small crowd broke apart. "Well, here we go," he whispered.
"You going to be alright?" I asked.
William didn't answer and just looked over the edge
