POV Charlie
without the airship, and many of us still hurt, Kyle had taken it upon himself to lead us back to frostbourne, the tension in the air was thick, the failure of our mission, the death of Rylie, the loss of the guards, and William, he hadn't spoken to us, he was cold, so very cold.
he had lost the love of his life, twice now, once on earth, and once here, and what makes it all the worse, he had discovered he had a daughter, then lost her, to multiverse, to my sister.
Kyle put his hand up, to indicate us to stop. "Charlie, William, come here for a second," he called, before whispering something to Hogworth as we walked up, to him, down from us a downslop leading to a flat area full of bodies.
"Good grief!" I exclaimed.
"These are forces from the loyalists, the ones who want to continue the war with the overworld," Kyle explained.
"What happened to them?" William asked.
"Looks like a group of people attacked them, although the marks don't match the weapons in the nether," Kyle explained.
I went down the slop, and over to the bodies, I examined the wounds on a few of the bodies. "best guess, two attackers, a sword and a hammer, although the mark is closer to a Katana," I raised my sonic and scanned the wounds.
"Mirco metal in the wound...Enderite?" I said.
"my forces don't use Enderrite, it is weaker in the nether," Kyle pointed out.
William looked around, and summoned up his arcane axe. "just means there is more for us to kill," Me and Kyle looked at each other, before looking at him.
"CAN WE GET A MOVE ON PLEASE!" Sheila called from the top of the slop, the princess getting impatient.
"yeah, come on," Kyle said, he and Abigail taking the lead, Ciara fell behind me, as I waited for the many groups.
"I'm worried about William," I said to them.
"understandable, this whole situation... it's messed up," Ciara said.
I sighed. "I will...do what we can when we get back," I said.
the next chuck of the journey, the nether was at war with itself, the nether horde fighting the nether Loylist, a faction that wants to continue the war with the overworld and return to a more, angry and hostile nether, as far as we know, they are being lead by one of Naeus's old generals, Zarkos, we don't know much about him, Naeus didn't keep many files, and Kyle hadn't met him in the war.
Zarkos attempted to rebuild Naeus's nether shortly before an unknown force brought Kyle back, and so leading the nether into this civil war, we didn't see any of the fighting, we passed a few outposts, and we heard the fighting, sounds of Ghast and pigmen fighting...it wasn't nice.
"How long?" Shizuku asked.
"not long now, the portal to Frostburne should just be here....." Abigail stopped as they approached an older castle, it was a grand structure, and the walls were high, although damaged, it was strange, something was off, and nothing was moving.
"Hmmm, let's do this quickly," Kyle said.
the group moved through the large gates and Sheila stopped and stared at it for a moment. "you alright? you're looking at that gate like it just killed Ember," I said.
"This gate has been reattached, it's been knocked off, recently," Sheila said.
I blinked and sturdy the door. "how did you know that?" I asked.
