POV Charlie
We were all getting ready to go into the Nether, Kyle was planning the actual mission and going over it with Razer, William and Ember, Rain would have been there but for some reason, he decided to come and talk to me.
I was standing on the balcony, it was my favourite stop in frostbourne, I was worried, about Crystal, about Meeps, Shizuku, Stella in the past, I watched the people run about the dreadfort, I remember that night here where I first content to Ciara.
"You thinking?" Rain asked. "What am I saying? of course your thinking, your always thinking," Rain said annoyed at himself.
I didn't turn to him and kept looking out the city, Rain just stood next to me. "Charlie...I want to talk to you," Rain said. I still didn't speak. "You know... you're my best friend, right? you've had my back for so long, you've always cared even when others didn't,"
I still didn't speak, I just don't have the energy, this mission, could be the difference between life and...well worse than death.
"Charlie, I want you to know..." He trailed off. "I want you to know, I've been thinking, about Crystal, I am hopeful...but...but if we can't save her...If it happens again, like with Abigail, I'm here for you, no matter what,"
I didn't say anything, I was scared too, I was terrified by all of this, even after a year. then I felt Rain's hand on my shoulder. "Charlie please talk to me," Rain said,
I sighed. "Rain I'm scared, I'm scared of this world, I'm scared of losing the people I love, I know one day Ember and the others will leave, I know in the end, you and Stella will leave, I know I'll end up alone,"
Rain looked at me shocked. "Charlie, I will not leave you alone, and you'll have Crystal,"
"Will I?" I asked. "That would mean we'll have to save her, and that she chose to stay here, she might go back with Razer,"
"Charlie no matter what happens you are my friend, I will not let you be alone," Rain said.
"Thanks," I answered.
the door open, foot, foot, wood. "Hello Ceris, what can we do for you?" I asked.
"Do I even want to ask how you knew it was me?" Ceris asked.
I sighed. "Elementary," I said.
Rain nudged me. "been while since I heard you say that,"
"Yeah," I mumbled.
"Rain?" Ceris started. "Can I have a moment with Charlie please?" she asked.
Rain nodded. "Yeah, I'll go and get ready with the others,"
Ceris came and stood next to me as we heard the door close, light snow began to fall natural and beautiful. "Stella told me once, that the frostbourne believe that when it snows before a battle it means you'll win,"
I sighed. "Ciara told me that, the day before the ender falls battle,"
"How much has changed since then," Ceris said. "We have lost so much between and gained so much,"
"Yeah, I heard what you did to Patrick," I said. "Thanks," I smiled at her.
"I had enough of the way Patrick treated you and Rain and overs," Ceris explained. "I can't pretend that I have always been nice to you, I can't act that I have never been mean or hurt you, because I have, and I've never really had a reason to do it, I've hated you for just being you...and I am so sorry for it,"
"I have held it against you," I said. "Not one moment of it, I don't really do hating people,"
"There is something I want to talk to you about, it's important and I feel you're the best to talk to about it," Ceris started Before she could continue the door opened again and we both turned to see Ember.
"Was I interrupting something?" he asked, looking between us.
"Nothing that can't wait," Ceris said walking back to the door and passing Ember.
Ember walked over. "The overs are ready, I thought I come and get you," he explained.
I let out a deep breath. "Come on then old chap, we have a war to win," I said walking to the door. "And god help me, I'll die doing it if I have to,"
