Happy Mother's Day!
Epilogue will be up tomorrow.
I walked down the hallway to the bedroom with the tray of breakfast that room service had brought up a lot quicker than I expected. August was just waking up. I could tell from the way her was rubbing his eyes, it's something he always does when he first opens his eyes. He looked to my side of the bed which he of course found was empty and sat up immediately. Then he noticed me slowly walking over to the bed.
"You really got up and walked like that just to get us breakfast? You should've just woken me up baby. I know I wore you out last night." He said and took the tray from me when I got close enough.
"It's fine, plus, I just want to be the best wife."
"And you are." He replied with a smile. "Now come sit down and eat. Then I'm going to run you a bath and get someone to bring up those salts you like. And don't try fight me on that either."
I sat down, grabbed his chin and pecked his lips. We both got comfortable and talked about how beautiful our wedding was as we ate breakfast. Yesterday was definitely everything we hoped for and more. Our day was perfect in every way.
I finished up my food first and reached over to my large Louis Vuitton purse. I grabbed the manilla envelope out and handed it to my husband. He stared at the envelope as he swallowed his mouthful of food before grabbing it.
"Divorcing me already?" He mused.
"Yeah so prepare for that bank account to be chopped in half." I giggled. "No, but seriously, just open it and read."
I watched him closely as he opened up the envelope and pulled out the legal documents. He started reading before pausing and looking up at me in surprise.
"Are you forreal?" He asked and re-read what he'd just seen. "This is serious?"
I nodded whilst holding back tears. "This is something that I have thought about for a long time. I wanted to do this years ago when he first called you dad, but I also wanted him to be part of this decision. He came to me a few weeks ago and asked me why he didn't share the same last name as Armani, Heaven and Honour. I explained it to him and after our conversation he asked if I could ask if you'd adopt him so that we can all be Alsina's. I talked with my mom, Jerome and Mama J and they all agreed that this was a big step but an extremely justified one. I think so too and I would like nothing more than for this to happen, but I'll also understand if-"
"Don't even finish that sentence." Aug said through tears, cutting off my sentence. "Of course I'll adopt him. That's my boy."
He put his plate on the bedside table and moved the papers to the side before grabbing me and pulling me into his arms. I ignored the slight pain between my legs and hugged him tightly as my tears finally fell.
