When I get to the venue, there are already a lot of people there. So many that, after going to the bar with Chloe to get a drink, we have to shove our way through the crowd to get to the front.
The first two bands have already played, so that means all these people are here to see my boyfriend and three of my best friends. Excited butterflies flutter around my stomach.
I pull my phone out of my pocket and text Dan. 'Good luck, you're going to be amazing xx'
"This place is packed! I bet the guys are so excited!" Chloe shouts over the noise of the crowd.
"Yeah... I just hope Dans okay" I look around at all the people. I know this is going to make him nervous, but no doubt Kyle will have him throw back a shot and he'll be fine once he gets through the first few songs.
My phone vibrates and I quickly check it. 'Thanks :) not sure about amazing though. But I better see you right at the front! x'
I smile but I don't text him back, I don't wanna distract him from what they're doing, vocal warm ups or whatever.
Then all of a sudden I feel a sharp tap on my shoulder and I spin around to see who it is.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I snap.
It's Sarah.
She has the most fake smile I have ever seen plastered across her face.
"Oh, you know, just here to support Danny boy. You may have come between us but we still reallyyy care about each other"
I roll my eyes. "Yeah right Sarah, piss off, he wouldn't want you here"
"Oh really? Is that why he put my name on the guestlist? And is that why I've just come from backstage after... calming him down? Oh sorry, I shouldn't have said that, you two are together now right?" she smirks and I bite my lip to stop myself causing a scene.
"I think you should go..." I breathe deeply, trying to control my anger.
She's lying.
I know she is.
Why would Dan put her on the guestlist? And there is NO way he would let her backstage, he wouldn't do that to me.
Before I have a chance to say anything else to her she laughs and turns on the spot. She stalks off to the back of the room and I lose sight of her.
Chloe grabs my hand and squeezes it. "Don't let her get to you, seriously, the girls a class A bitch"
"I won't, let's grab another drink before they're on" I pull her by the hand back to the bar and we sit there knocking back shots and downing pints for the next 20 minutes.
The music that has been playing g has stopped and applause ripples through the crowd.
"Shit!" we both jump off the bar stools and push our way back to the front. We're more centre this time. In fact I'm standing right in front of the mic stand.
I was kidding when I mentioned being a fangirl, but here I am, centre stage, like an obsessed fan. I laugh, I AM an obsessed fan.
The lights dim and Dan walks on stage, eyes glued to the floor. He raises a hand to acknowledge the rather large crowd and the rest of the guys follow him on stage and take their places behind their instruments.
"Heyyy everyone" Dan speaks into the microphone and looks up at the crowd. His eyes search the room for a second, but eventually he focuses his eyes on me.
I know he's only doing this to make himself less nervous, to pretend that no one else is in the room, but it makes me feel special that he's picked me out of this crowd.
"So, we're Bastille and I think we're gonna play a few songs for you tonight?"
The crowd roars in response and I fill with pride. Chloe and I scream along with everyone else when they launch into "Bad Blood". A song that we've heard 100 times over, but it never gets boring and we sing along with every word.
They play for about an hour. At the end of the gig Dan look down at me and grins happily. I give him a little thumbs up and make a phone signal with my hand to let him know I'll text him.
The crowd starts to disperse but me and Chloe hang around. We grab a few more drinks for ourselves at the bar and I text Dan.
'Just at the bar, grabbing drinks then be backstage, gimme 5 xx'
We bought too many drinks to carry, as usual, so we down one each quickly at the bar and then make our way to the backstage area and find the boys dressing room.
"Daniel!" we burst through the door, definitely a bit drunk "That was amazing!" I set my drinks on the table and launch myself at him.
He picks me up by the waist and I wrap my legs around him and kiss him repeatedly.
I turn my head for a second "You were all amazing by the way, but I can't congratulate you all like this"
I feel Dan shake with laughter and hear the other guys join in as I turn my attention back to him.
"Seriously!" I kiss him again "I've never seen you perform like that, it was so good!"
Dan kisses me back, but his lasts longer than mine have. I'm so excited for him and just being with him like this is making my heart beat twice as fast as normal.
I break away to breathe and he lowers my feet to the floor. "Thank you" he smiles and wraps his arms around me, pulling me into a hug.
"It was you, I just saw you there and you looked like you were having such a good time, it made me want to be better"
I pull back from the hug "Well in that case I'll have to fangirl over you more often. Do you need a groupie as well though? Because I'm totally up for that..." I tease.
"Shush" he puts his finger over my lips. I kiss it softly. "Later" he says cheekily.
Fast forward an hour and everyone is drinking and deep in conversation. All the boys are in a great mood. I'm having a conversation with Will about his lack of girlfriend, when I mention Dan and turn to look at him only to realise he isn't there.
"Do you know where he's gone?" I ask Will.
He shakes his head in response so I uncross my legs and get up off the sofa.
He's definitely not in the room.
I make my way out the door and follow the corridor to a dead end and that's when I see him.
He's leaning against the wall. But he's not on his own. Sarah is there.
She has her arms on either side of him and she's kissing him.I can't look at this anymore.
"Fuck, that's classy Daniel. Don't come home tonight."
