Dans POV
"My head hurts, my back is sore and my legs are cramping" moans Kyle from his bunk.
"We've been on this bus for 20 minutes, you know that right?" I stick my head round the curtain of my bunk and see him lying with an arm and a leg hanging over the edge of his own.
"Yes I do know that and it's been the longest 20 minutes of my LIFE"
He's such a moan. Honestly, Kyle is the best, like all the time, except for when you have to travel with him.
"Well it's another hour and a half at least to Belfast so you'd better suck it up mate" I roll over and try to ignore him. We had a long night last night and I didn't sleep much, I'm shattered.
On the plus side, we'll get to Belfast at about 3pm today and our show isn't until 7pm tomorrow night so I've plenty of time to catch up on sleep.
Although I do kind of wanna go check out the city before we head off back to England to places we've seen before.
Emily is in the bunk below me, but I think everyone's sleeping except for me and Kyle, so I pull my phone out of my pocket and text her.
'Oi, come watch a movie'
I hear her message tone and the clicking of the keys as she replies.
'No, I'm sleeping x'
'Obviously not, come watch a movie or I'll pull you out of that bunk by the foot'
I hear movement beneath me and next thing I know the curtain of my bunk has been pulled back and I'm being beaten by a pillow.
"Oh shit!" I shout as I struggle to pull mine from beneath me and fight back.
"What the!" shrieks Emily "Put me the hell down Simmons or you're next!"
Kyle to the rescue. He's grabbed her and is now carrying her to the lounge area, where he throws her onto the sofa.
I jump out of my bunk and join them. I sit on the same sofa as Emily, with my feet up on the little coffee table.
"Wanna join us?" I look up at Kyle and grab the PS4 controller so I can pick a movie.
"You two lovebirds and me? No thanks, I'd rather stick pins in my eyes" he blows me a kiss and heads back to his bunk.
We decide on watching Labyrinth, with David Bowie, since it's Emily's favourite.
She lies down with her feet up on the sofa and her head in my lap. We spend the next hour or so singing along and quoting the movie.
I glance down at her every so often to see her smiling and can't help but think how lucky I am. I play with her hair and her eyes start to close, at one point I think she's sleeping, but then she starts quoting the movie again.
"You remind me of the babe"
"What babe?"
"The babe with the power"
"What power?"
"The power of voodoo"
"Who do?"
"You do"
"Do what?"
"Remind me of the babe"I can't help but laugh at this. It's funny in the movie, it's even funnier watching her, half asleep, do it and put on stupid voices.
After another 40 minutes we pull into a car park near the venue were playing at tomorrow.
It's absolutely pissing down with rain.
"Welcome to Ireland" Will laughs as he emerges from his bunk. "You two slept at all?"
"Nope, been watching Bowie" I say, pointing at the TV screen.
"Awh no way! I LOVE that movie!"
Will sits down on the other sofa and starts talking away to Emily about all his favourite parts of the movie. I take this as my opportunity to go get changed out of these sweat pants and my own bands t shirt, so I kiss Emily quickly on the cheek and head off to get ready. After little thought and even less effort, I'm ready. Black skinny jeans, white converse, and my 'I killed Laura Palmer' t shirt. Typical me really.
I grab my grey wolf hoody which is on Emily's bunk and head back to the lounge area.
"Wanna go explore?" I ask everyone.
"Woodys still sleeping and I think Kyles just drifted off so I'll wait on them and we can meet you guys later for drinks and food if you want" says Will.
I nod "sounds like a plan then. You coming?" I hold my hand out for Emily and she takes it and I help pull her off the sofa.
"Oh hold on" she runs to the top deck of the bus where all her clothes are being kept. I grab my red parka and throw it on, pulling the hood up to keep my hair safe.
She comes back down in a grey hoody of mine, with the hood up and my denim jacket on over it.
"You know" I raise an eyebrow "I was going to wear those tomorrow, and If I can't find somewhere to get them cleaned then you're in trouble"
She sticks her tongue out and skips her way off the bus, out into the rain. I follow her quickly and am surprised to see her standing by the door and not jumping in puddles already.
As soon as I'm down the steps, she pushes me against the side of the bus and kisses me. At first I'm a little shocked, because I wasn't expecting it, but I ease into the kiss and pull her closer to me.
"Sorry" she says breathlessly after a few minutes. "I love being around those boys but I've been waiting a while to do that" she laughs and starts to pull me by the hand.
"Where are we gonna go?" I ask, allowing myself to be pulled without hesitation.
"Who knows Dan, let's just explore" she grins and keeps walking.
We end up in a skate park, there are only a few people in it actually skating and most of the rest of them are just sitting around talking.
So we do just that. There's a large halfpipe, which we end up sitting on, with our feet hanging over the edge.
We don't really talk about anything in particular, that is until one girl comes over to us. She can't be any older than 16.
"Are you that guy from Bastille?"
"Er, yeah I am"
"Heard your song on the radio last week, good shout, liked it. Is she your girlfriend" she nods to Emily.
"Yep, that's her"
"Wow mate, you could do way better" she says as she turns on her heel and walk away.
I stare after her for a minute with my mouth open. "Sorry, I think I need to stop saying yes when people ask me that..." Emily looks sad.
"Yeah... maybe you could... but they'd find out anyway" she says quietly.
"Oh Ems I'm sorry, you know she's just being a jealous little teenager" I slip my arm around her shoulders and she cuddles into me.
"Yeah... it's only going to get worse though isn't it, the more people like you the more they're going to tell you you could do better" she sighs a little.
"They are, but they're wrong" I look down at her "I know I could never do better, hell, I'm not really sure how I did this well in the first place, you must've been drunk when you agreed to this" I grin at her and she laughs.
"You know I wasn't" she smiles up at me. "It's okay, I know it's not your fault, I guess it's just something I'll have to learn to deal with"
