Chapter 9

Weeks passed, and I can say that dealing with Verra became a lot better.

I realized that if I stop resisting and do what she really wants, everything will be simple. Nakakapagod na rin kasi na iwasan na lang siya lagi, so I decided to just surrender myself.

Satarrah is right. If I stop running, she will stop chasing. Now, I am just getting along with what she wants.

Also, maybe, just maybe, she might lose interest and change her mind if I do these things. If that happened, my life would be back to normal.

Gladly, I can also find myself enjoying her company. We go out sometimes to eat or go shopping.

Thankfully, she also became less demanding.

The only thing with which I am having a hard time dealing is her jealousy. While spending time with her, I discovered how Verra easily gets jealous. She's also kinda clingy. If she only knew that I am not interested in girls.

"I thought we would be eating lunch outside?"

"No, honey. I brought lunch." I want to cringe at the word she uses to call me. These past few days, I have always noticed her calling me with that endearment. I can't do anything about it tho, kaya hinayaan ko na lang.

"Really? Where did you buy it?" I just fetch her in the lobby.

"I cooked it."

I was surprised. No one aside from my mother has cooked something for me. I really appreciate it and find it sweet. Her gestures can really be surprising sometimes.

I never expected that Verra Normans would do this.

"You know how to cook?" She actually looks like someone who has been served by people all her life. Someone who can get what she wants without even doing anything.

Or judgmental lang talaga ako.

"U-Uhm I just learned." Umiwas ito ng tingin. "But I'm sure this tastes good!" Buong kumpiyansa niyang bawi. It's like she's both convincing me and herself.

Now I'm curious about what she cooked and what it tastes like.

I also didn't forget the glass and utensils.

I was amazed nang makita ang laman nito.

It is impressive that she can cook something like this as a beginner.

"I remember you saying you like seafood—so, there's shrimp, mussels, and small clams. Nanny Susan taught me how to cook it. She said that eating this will also remind you of the breathtaking sea." I can't help but smile because I find it amusing.
