Chapter 12

Manik's pov

"I cant do this nandini, its so exhausting and I cant even get sleep sometimes, it just wont get out of my head. 5 years ago alia and I were friends, she gave me very flirty signals and was always so touchy and feely with me. I told her I loved her, she said she loved me too. We dated for a bit and she was very good to me, well thats what I thought. Mom hated her and so did cabir and navya but I wasn't sure why. Umm long story short she was cheating on me the whole time, she was using me for money. When I found out she said she was sorry and I said okay, I really did love her, but it just happened again. Our relationship went on and off for 3 years and me breaking a little every time. I told her I didnt to date anymore and she insulted me and stuff, left to another person. She came back a few months ago and has been begging me to come back to her" I said  and I felt lighter letting it out

"Well the only thing I will say is it wasn't love and she doesnt deserve you" she said and I looked up from her lap, "thats what mom said too" I was shocked how similar her views are to mom

"Have you ever heard, whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" she asked and I shook my head

"You grew from that situation and it made you strong. I would say forgive her in your heart and you'll not be burdened by the situation anymore" she is so right

"I will try to" I said and she put her hand in my hair hesitantly, but as soon as her hand touched my hair I felt peace

"Nandini' I said and she moved her hand, "no, dont move your hand do that it it gives me peace, its relaxing" I said and she continued

"Thank you for handling me, I know I am harder than arohi to take are of but you do such a good job" I said and she giggled, "I mean you aren't wrong" that made me laugh

"Show me this side more, I like this giggly, teasing side darling" I said and she smiled, I moved away from her lap

"Sleep, I know you are exhausted" I said closing the lights as she placed arohi beside her with pillows and blanket like the day before

"Put her in the crib nandini" I said, "no, she wont sleep, its good for nap times but at night she wont sleep long enough in there" she said and I nodded

She put arohi down and I leaned over nandini kissing arohi's head a few times, followed by a kiss on Nandini's forehead. I layed down and held nandini's hand falling a sleep.

Nandini's pov

It has been 3 months since I got married to manik and arohi got a dad. These two months have been actually bliss, arohi has started jumping more, she was starting to talk more, still no words though. Manik tries to get her to say papa every single day, he has became more possessive with her and I.

Manik has been so nice and even flirty with me ever since that night he told me about alia, I would never judge him. I actually loved that he shared that with me because he trusts me. He takes us with him everyday to office, I have started sketching some designs for him becasue he noticed me sketching one day.

Its arohi's birthday tomorrow and manik has been doing so much, she is turning 1 and he is planning like its a whole freaking wedding. He got a huge cake, balloons ribbons, all the shebang

"Manik can you please calm down, she is turning 1 not 25" I said seeing him getting mad at everyone because apparently the decoration hadn't started yet

"Nandini they advent started decoration" he said and I grabbed his phone, "shut up and sit" I said, we were more comfortable with each other now.

"Give me my phone" he said glaring at me, "you will get it back once you is and eat, its 11 pm" I said handing him a plate as he sat down

He started eating and I picked up arohi who was in her crib laughing, "you miss malhotra are being very difficult today, I know apka birthday hai kal par aru esai ni hota" I said and she giggled grabbing my dupata,

"Oye meri Beti ko dato mat" manik said eatingand I shook my head at him. I walked around with arohi for 30 minutes or so but she wasn't a sleep, she wasn't even closing her eyes

"Arohi close your eyes" I said and she looked at me moving her head from my shoulder and I supported her back with my arm. "Hanji, essai dekhnai sai kuch ni hoga, sona toh padega aru" I said and she threw her hands on my cheeks putting her head back in my shoulder, her arm around my neck I look at manik for help and he smiles looking at me.

"Arohi, jaan please mumma ko tang mat karo, she is sleepy baby" he said and arohi yawned in my shoulder making me gasp at how manik's words affect her. I look at him and he laughed at me making me glare at him

"Close your eyes aru" I said and she opened them wide making manik laugh making me almost cry

"Arohi  jaan, maine kya bola apko" he said and she looked at him, "close your eyes baby, mumma is tired na, mara bacha be a good girl and sleep please we dont want mumma being gussa now do we, no na, then sojao please" he said and arohi closed her eyes

I walk around a bit more with her and manik came back up after putting the dishes away and walked to me, he kissed arohi's back walking to the bathroom to brush. He came out and looked at me.

"Put her down darling, she is a sleep" he said, "no she will wake up" I said and he sighed, he grabbed arohi from my arms and put her inbetween the pillows on my side, he closed the lights and patted the bed beside him where I layed down

"Jaan tum itni tension kyu lai rahi ho, woh bachi hai agar thodha zada uth gayi toh tumhai pata hai woh apni nind puri kar leti hai hamesha toh ita worry kyu kartı ho" he said and I relaxed at his words

"Manik apko pata hai na agar woh soyegi ni toh phir royegi pur mujhsai uska rona ni dekha jata" I said and he leaned over me to kiss arohi's head and then he kissed my cheek

"Mai hu na, iti tention mat Lia kara" he said holding my hand, "goodnight darling" he whispered kissing my hand, "goodnight manik" I said and I dont know when sleep took over me
