Chapter 13

I woke up the next day and quickly got ready in a cream suit, I picked arohi's outfit that manik bought for her, and walked downstairs kissing arohi's head and fixing manik's blanket

I quickly made food for breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen, and living room. I saw that the decorations hadn't started and it was only 5 so I started decorating the living room, with ribbons, flowers, I blew up ballons too. I felt really dizzy so I sat down for a few minutes and saw it was 10 so I thought to wake up manik and arohi. I walked to our room and saw them both sleeping on their stomachs

I caressed arohi's face a little and kissed her cheek making her open her eyes, "happy birthday baby" I said kissing her lip and she giggled, "aww mera baby is such a grown up now, happy first birthday ruhi" I said tickling her making her laugh,

Hearing her laughs manik woke up, he moved his hand around and not feeling me there he jumped up, seeng arohi and I he calmed down

"Happy birthday meri jaan" he said picking her up kissing her lips making her giggle, "happy birthday baby" he whispered again kissing her whole face making her giggle

"Good morning manik", "morning nandini" he said playing with arohi, "give her to me ill give her a bath" I said and he gave her to me

I took arohi to the bathroom finished her bath time and put her in manik's choice of clothing. I bring her out and manik was sleeping on his stomach so I left aroma beside him on the bed, he opened his eyes feeling her around him

"Awww mera bacha, so pretty baby, nandini she looks gorgeous" he said smiling, "she sure does", "good genes" he smirked and I laughed, "apni taref khud hi" I said and he giggled "tum toh karti ni ho toh khud hi Karni padti hai" he said teasing me making me smile

The whole day arohi was boucing back and forth from bhai to bhabhi to manik to me. Everyone was so excited for her birthday. It was not night time and we were about to cut the cake, manik had arohi in his arms, me beside him and bhhai beside me while bhabhi had ma on video call.

"Arohi baby blow the candles" manik said showing her how to blow and she blew the candles but not enough to fully blow them so manik helped.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear arohi, happy birthday to you" we all sang while she cut the cake well manik and I helped. She put her hands on the cake licking ti from her fingers making everyone laugh. Everyone took so many pictures during that and dinner. Oh and about presents then let me tell you manik bought her a huge teddy bear, a whole bunch of other toys, books colour pencils and not to forget diamond earning becasue we got her ears peirced a few days ago. Bhai and bhabhi bought her night time stories, a little horse, toys, clothes and a diamond bracelet which come on she is a baby but they love her so much

I was standing besdie manik who had arohi in his arms, we were walking to bhai and bhabhi infant of out room. It was midnight, the whole day was amazing, arohi was so happy and giggly, she didnt cry once, she ate good too

Manik's Pov

"Goodnight guys" cabir and navya said, "night guys" I said, "night angel" cabir kissed her head and navya kissed her cheeks.

I look at nandini who looked weak, as navya and cabir left i walked in the room with a very hyper arohi in my arms and nandini followed. She looked exhausted and weak, I knew she had been worrying and working so much as in cleaning and stuff in the past few days .

She headed to the bathroom to brush, when she came out she looked pale, but I chose not to say anything and I got freshen up. I came out and saw arohi in her arms as she sat on the edge of the bed wth closed eyes.

"Nandini are you okay" I asked and she opened her eyes and weakly nodded, "give her to me" I said and she shook her head, "she is a sleep its okay" she said and placed arohi on the bed. I noticed she had changed her. I closed the lights and sat beside nandini on the bed.

"Jaan kya Hua, come here" I said opening my arms and she took her dupata off almost falling into my arms as I wrapped my arms around her, she felt hot, "kya Hua" I asked again and I didnt hear anything, there was no reply

"Baby, you feel warm come on ill give you a pill" I said and she just cuddled closer in me, "jaan talk to me" I said, "im exhausted manik, mai thak gayi hu bohot zada" she said and I sighed. Thats when something clicked in my head

"Nandini when was the last time you ate" I asked becasue I dont remember her eating at all since this morning, she was running around fixing things

"Yesterday lunch" she said and I pulled her off me, "what the fuck nandini" I yelled at her turning the light on and arohi didnt even move she was tired I guess.

"Dont yell please" she said and thats when I noticed tears in her eyes, 'im sorry jaan dont cry, shh im sorry" I wiped her tears

"Sit here ill get you something to ea" I said and she shook her head, "im not hungry I just want to sleep" she said, "nandini not a single word until you eat" I said getting out of the bed, I jogged downstairs and grabbed her some rice and rajma

I came up and saw her eyes closed making me sigh at how tired she looked, I sat beside her and feeling me close she opened her eyes.

"Pata hai tum na aru sai bhi zada parehsan karti ho mujhai, apna dyan bilkul ni rakhti huh. Tum thik ni rahogi toh hum dono ka dyan kon rakhega han. Par nahi tum samajti hi ni ho ab dekho kya halat bana rakhi hai apni. Shakal Choti si ho gayi hai par nahi tumhai sarai kam karnai hai. Nandini i have people for everything but no you dont listen" I complained to her abut her while feeding her, she ate with no complains just staring at her hands

Once I finished feeding her, I put the dishes back in the kitchen and got back to our room. I closed the door and the lights and nandini crawled into bed after brushing her teeth again. I pulled her closed to me so her head rested on my chest.

"Jaan tum samaj rahi ho na" I asked and she nodded, "hanji" thats all she said

"Is there something going on in your mind darling" I asked and she nodded, "mujhai Batao kya hua" I said and she clutched my t shirt like arohi does

"Kuch zada ni hai par meko ni pata kyu par mai thak gayi hu manik, pata hai arohi meri bat bhi ni sunti" she complained and I kind of chuckled, "so this is because she doesnt listen to you" and she nodded in my chest

"Jaan she is 1, of course she doesnt listen, she doesnt even understand much", I said "but she listens to you and not me" this made me laugh

"Shona she listens to me becasue I tell her about how her mom needs sleep and her mom is tired, she loves you more then she loves me so of course she listens when I scold her", hearing this nandini looks up at me, I could see her face in the moonlight

"Sachii" she asked, "muchi meri jaan" I said and she smiled finally making me laugh, "toh Matlab isle mood off tha apka", she hmmed making me laugh, "you are such a baby nandini, she will always love you more than she loves me honey so dont ever think otherwise" I said she nodded "thank you Manik"

"Your welcome and goodnight shona" I said kisssing her head, "goodnight Manik" she said smiling in my chest.
