"Ms Morgan!" The sales attendant grins in unhidden joy. Sometimes I hated how everyone knew us in town, yes my father has never lost a case, big fucking deal. What they didn't know though was that he never represented a criminal, no matter how much money they offer him. I'm so proud of him.

"Ma'am show me your best designs." Ethan smirks at her.

"Ofcourse sir, please follow me." she blushes. My brother was handsome and would only get better as he ages. Her smile was so fake like her lashes. Sometimes I'm too honest, maybe it had something to do with how I grew up. You could hardly get away with a lie in my house so why bother. After being married to a lawyer for 24years and being an accountant herself mom was also very observant.
My parents love story wasn't cliche it was real. They met through a case no surprise there, Mom ran an account for a supposed thief which made her a suspect in a fraud crime. Being young then my dad was rude as fuck mom's words. He accused her straight away and told her how many years she should expect to spend in jail if she didn't corporate. She slapped him also no surprise there, my dad was furious but like a real man he only yelled back and all professionalism was thrown out the window. They cursed at each other in the middle of an interrogation room and were both forced out. The case took months to conclude and they saw more of each other. They didn't date till after the case was solved and dad found out she was innocent, ashamed of himself he took her out for an apology dinner and bam! chemistry interfered. It was boring to me as a kid but as I grew up it felt movie worthy. Coming out of my thoughts I glared at Ethan, was he planning to buy the whole store?

"You do know dad runs your account right?" I had to ask.

"Don't spoil my fun please," he whines staring at a mirror with a blue button up shirt in hand.

"Okay," I raised my hands in surrender. "I'm just saying, hope you're prepared to explain why you need so much clothes." I winked.

"You should be a lawyer, miss smarty pants" he scoffs, rolling his eyes.

"We already have one." I shrugged but grinned. He wasn't the only one who could get under people's skin. I sat back peacefully, sipping the free juice they offered.
When I heard a familiar voice my breath hitched.

"Honey please I don't need you buying me clothes it makes me feel like less of a man."

Lies, he used that line on me so many times. Oh god! I was so stupid. Looking up, I caught sight of Drake, he had his hand wrapped around a blondes waist. Hey! I knew her, we were actually on good terms. She's a nice girl she doesn't deserve this but what can I say that won't make be out like a jealous ex.

Lizzy think, I groaned inwardly. Wait why should I care abyway? You love helping people Elizabeth.

They hadn't noticed me yet, Drake was drooling over some shirt and it was really expensive, what a greedy pig!

"Do you want that one?" She asked innocently.

"Hey Christine right?" I cut in, standing up and approaching them. Drake paled as he saw me but I spared him no glance.

"Oh my gosh! Lizzy" she squeaks hugging me. "Babe you look exquisite." She winks, pecking both my cheeks and I reprocated.

"What can I say? Chanel never disappoints." I smirked.

"Damn right, what are you doing here?"

"Came with my brother" I shrugged. "What about you?" I threw a quick glance at him.

"Oh! My boyfriend." Ouch! That hurts. I used to say that, heck I said it one month ago.

"Drake meet Lizzy, she's Dr Morgan's daughter." Don't be so surprised, my father has gotten his PhD.

"Nice...to..ummm meet you," he stutters looking anywhere but me.

"Likewise Jake." I miscalled.

"It's Drake." Christine corrects like a dutiful girlfriend.

"Oh! My bad. Why don't you guys come over for dinner?" I smirked, a plan formulating in my head. I might not be able to expose him but mom would gladly.

"Ofcourse that's so nice of you to offer, what do you say honey?" She smiles at him.

"Yes drake, what do you think?" I glared at him.

"Chrissy I have to help mom?" He asked, what a fool.

"Come on I won't be happy if you refused my offer" I frowned.

"Please babe lizzy has a delicate heart." She pouts.

My gosh how many pets name does she have for him and delicate heart! Where the fuck did that come from? That's jealousy talking Lizzy.

"Okay for you love." He pecks her lips keeping his eyes on me and I smirked.

It was a facade, that stunt ripped my heart apart.

"I have to go but I hope to see you guys at 7." I continued to smile, pecking both Christine cheeks again in goodbye and she does same. I walked away not even sparing them a second glance.

If anyone was wondering, Christine isn't the girl I caught Drake with, what a whore!!!

"Ethan! I want to get some work clothes hurry the fuck up!" I groaned. After seeing Drake looking so smug I was in a terrible mood. Sensing my mood swing Ethan pays for his clothes without a word and I took some bags to help him out. Opening the boot of the car, we placed all the bags inside.

"Do you want to come with me or wait in the car?"

"Car." I nodded before walking away. I went through the shopping like a different person. All I wanted to do was head home and go cry in my room.
After getting everything I thought I needed I headed back to the car. Placing the shopping bags on the backseat before slipping into the driver's seat and turning on the radio to fill up the silence. I pulled into our garage few minutes later and we both grabbed some bags. It took a few trips to get everything in.

"Mom!" I called out.

"Yes sweetheart," she strolls out of the kitchen wrapped like usual in her favorite apron. "How was shopping?" She kissed my cheeks.

"Fine. Mom I ran into Christine and invited her for dinner".

"Ms Hades?"

"Yes mom her."

"Okay she's a nice girl" she shrugs before returning to the kitchen. I really couldn't see myself living her life. I would die from boredom if I had to be a housewife. But somehow mom seems okay with it. Pushing away the intrusive thoughts I went to my room.
After storing all my clothes away, properly I slumped backwards on my bed. Did I really invite Drake to my home? What the hell was I thinking? Dad never misses dinner this could backfire really quick. I sat back up now feeling extremely panicked.

"Calm yourself Lizzy you can't be losing yourself over a breakup. "Suck it up and move on Elizabeth!" I groaned before laying back down. My cellphone chose that instant to ring.

"Joshua? Why is he calling me?" I sighed. Joshua was Mr popular in highschool, even wanted us to date for social reasons. I turned him down obviously because I was with drake but now I'm wondering if that was stupid on my part.

"Hello?"

Lizzy doesn't know how to grieve, she's hardly had any reason to cry so don't be judgemental. And yes they are people who have perfect lives those are the lucky ones.♥️♥️♥️ Vote and comment loves.
