"Can we keep this between us, I trust Emma but I don't want to go about spreading dirt's about Gloria" I begged.
"We understand. This is a family matter and it would stay that way, now about Peter?"
"What about him?" I asked glancing out the window.
"Do you know where he lives Lizzy?"
"Yes, thankfully I've being there before" I smirk.
"Good so we go tomorrow?"
"Yes but I have to make sure somehow Gloria doesn't go visit him" I sighed.
"That might be a problem and how are you sure he lives alone?"
"He does."
"That's not what I meant. The wedding is in one months time won't his family be around. Their from Italy right?"
"Fuck I didn't think it would be this hard" I groaned leaning back on the seat.
"We'll think of something Lizzy don't worry."
"I hope so, we can't waste time we need to know where he stands" I growl annoyed with the turn of events. They changed the subject seeing how agitated I was getting.
"So what was that teacher problem you had earlier?" I rolled my eyes before narrating the story of Mrs Darcy's favour.
"Hello Gloria."
"Hey Lizzy what's up?" I heard shuffling in the background.
"Are you at work?"
"Yeah why?"
"I wanted us to meet and talk about the whole Peter thing." She takes a deep breath before replying.
"Lizzy I told you it was a mistake please drop it."
"Okay fine can we still meet up though just to talk."
"I can't Lizzy I have alot to round up at work then I need to meet the wedding planner for some things."
"Is Peter going to be there?" I asked casually.
"No." I heard hushed voices in the background before it stopped.
"Lizzy I have to go" she hangs up.
"I can't believe that worked" Sarah chuckles.
"Me either guess God's on our side" I smirked.
"Let's go then you said Peter closes at five right?"
"Yes he must be on his way home now" I glanced at my watch.
"Good better timing."
"I'll drive" I took Gera's keys. We had to lie to Emma about our whereabouts. I felt bad but Gloria's business was her business and I won't even have told the girls if I didn't need the help. We listened to the radio on our way no one making to start a conversation. I was tense and nervous. I didn't know what to expect from this visit but I knew Gloria loved Peter like crazy. We entered the friendly neighborhood driving alittle further before I saw Peter's house.
"It's cute" Gera comments.
"Yeah Gloria will love living here it's peaceful" I added parking the car few blocks away.
"Let's get this over with" Sarah sighs before stepping down. We all had to give a small jump considering how high Gera's jeep was. I rang the doorbell holding my breath, some part of me prayed he wasn't home to avoid the confrontation. I wasn't so lucky though as the door flew open.
"Oh Lizzy what a lovely surprise" Peter smiles opening the door wider. He looked so innocent I doubted if Gloria saw correctly.
"Sarah, Geraldine" he acknowledged them as we walked in. The place was neat and had a homey feel.
"What brings you here?" He smiles loosening his tie. He was still in his suit meaning he just got home as planned. I tried to act my age for once so I sat down and the girls followed suit. It didn't last long.
"Why did you cheat on Gloria?" Peter frowns.
"She told you that?"
"No I read minds" I scoffed.
"That means she's still thinking about it" he whispers. He looked broken, I didn't want to believe Gloria was right when she said it was a mistake but seeing him was kind off confirming it was.
"How did it happen Peter?" I pointed to the chair. He sat leaning back and staring at his ceiling. I exchanged looks with the girls.
"You have met Ezekiel." I scoffed annoyed to even hear his name. Ezekiel was Peter's younger brother. He is a total party animal, a flirt and he works for a freaking mafia back in Italy. He rarely visits but when he does, I spend hours consoling Gloria that just because one of Peter's family didn't like her didn't mean it was the end of the world.
"Yeah" I added.
"Well he came three weeks ago" Peter sighs looking at me now. "He wrote a stupid list about things I needed to do before I got married."
"Let me guess cheating on Gloria was on it."
"No but getting shit faced drunk was."
"You don't drink."
"Exactly. I only drunk because Gloria insisted I should have some fun, getting home I had sex with the woman present in my room because I thought it was Gloria. She's the only woman with keys to my apartment" he sighs.
"But she wasn't Gloria."
"No it was Pamela."
"Who?"
"Pamela Stevens" he looks at us wide eyes.
"Are we suppose to know who that is?" Sarah asks.
"Yes I thought Gloria told you about her."
"Clearly not who is she?"
"She's a bitch in the firm that hates Gloria's gut we didn't think she would go as far as to sleep with me though but we guessed wrong. Anyway I called Gloria immediately I woke up and found another woman in my bed....."
"You called her?"
"Yes didn't she tell you?"
"No she dismissed the topic as a mistake" I sighed. I should have listened to Gloria, Peter isn't getting cold feet he was wronged some might even call it rape and Ezekiel and Pamela are the catalysts.
"It was a mistake Lizzy I will never hurt Gloria I love her" he says with so much emotions I had to look away ashamed I could think wrong of him.
"Well you might love Gloria but you're a bad host I'm starving" Gera jokes breaking the air. We all chuckled. We stayed with Peter for a few more hours, he was actually an excellent company to be around and I won't mind having him as a brother in law.
"Pamela huh?" Sarah asks. We were presently gathered in my room Emma included. We skipped the whole cheating incident but we told her Pamela was a bitch out to get my cousin in her work place.
"I'm going to get dad to deal with her" I responded.
"Don't Lizzy Gloria won't like that."
"Obviously that's why she kept something so important from me. The girl is tormenting her you heard Peter" I frowned.
"It's not your fight Lizzy, Gloria is almost 27 she can handle herself fine."
"I know but I'm still worried Gloria is soft hearted and Likes to see the good in people, if it was Gladys they would have probably gotten into a chicken fight" I smiled slightly. I missed Gladys no doubt she hardly visits us but atleast I can expect her for the wedding. All my family members will be there, Ethan included and I couldn't wait to hug my not so baby brother again.
"Let Gloria handles things in her own way. Emma how are things progressing with Ivan?"
