I sat in the coffee shop sipping my cup as I waited for Eli, you heard right. The niggga has being blowing my phone up for months so I decided to hear him out.

The door dings but I don't look up until someone was slipping into the chair across mine.

"Hey" he smiles. I rolled my eyes looking at him properly. Simply put he looked like shit. For a guy who was getting engaged he didn't look too happy.

"Why I'm I here? To get an invite to your wedding" I scoffed sipping the remainder of my drink.

"I deserve that".

"You deserve more but I'm not even angry anymore" I say honestly. He nods.

"I'll go get some liquid courage" he jokes and I responded with an eye roll. He sighs before slipping out of the booth.

"Get me a cup" I called after him. My phone screen lights up.

"Bitch what did I hear! Call me asap" - Emma. I sighed switching my phone off, knowing Emma she will text me non stop until I respond. Eli returns placing a cup in front of me.

"Your favorite" he smiles.

"Thanks". It was quiet for a few minutes.

"Eli why I'm I here?"

"You deserve the truth".

"Good so let's hear it". I leaned back crossing my arms.

"Christine is a heiress to my father's biggest competitor. One day we ran into each other and we had so much in common we hit it off". I nodded.

"We fooled around a few times but that was it atleast for me but not to her. Like the brat she was she cried to her father about wanting me even when I told her plainly I wasn't looking for anything serious. Believe me I didn't know about this marriage until after our one year anniversary when I made to tell my parents about you. I'm so sorry Lizzy I know you think I'm a coward for succumbing to my parents wishes".

"I do" I stated honestly. He looks away.

"You chose money over me Eli and that's all I'm seeing here" I shrugged bringing my cup to my lips.

"You're right. All my life I've lived in money I don't know how to live without it if that makes me an hypocrite, fine".

"It does and you're a fucking asshole" I threw the cup of coffee on him before grabbing my phone and leaving him screaming in pain. I expected better from him but I guess my expectations were too high. I threw the cup at the corner before slipping into my faithful car.

I finally turned my phone on and like expected I had tonnes of text messages waiting to be read. I skipped them just calling her direct. I watch as Eli dried his face as he walked to his car. He glanced in my car direction shaking his head.

"What the fuck Lizzy!" Came into my ear and I flinched caught off guard. Looking back at Eli he was gone.

"Hey Emma" I turned my phone on speaker before tossing it on the passenger seat and turning my car on.

"Don't hey me. You went to see that fucker, what were you thinking?"

"I wanted closure and I got it". I shrugged my shoulders even though she couldn't see me.

"You sound fine" she sounded surprise.

"Ofcourse I am" I chuckled.

"No when you see an ex you love you should be a mess what aren't you telling me Lizzy".

"Nothing, I'm over Eli. We ended things four months ago I had enough time to grieve" I sighed.

"Okay I believe you, where are you?"

"I'm driving home".

"Don't go there!" she rushed out.

"Why?"

"Sarah and Frederick are being extremely loud".

"Emma it's a five bedroom duplex how loud can they be" I laughed rolling my eyes.

"Fine whatever meet me at that park after school I'm bored".

"Okay I'm coming" I hang up. I drove pass my home before coming to a stop in front of the park. I saw Emma on a swing eyes on her phone. I jumped down walking towards her.

"Hey bitch!" I called.

"Babe!" She stands up to hug me like we didn't see each other this morning.

"What's up with you Emma?"

"Shhhh I'm stalking that guy". She discreetly points to a guy pushing a girl in a swing.

"You're into baby daddies now?" I joked.

"No you idiot that's his sister, isn't he just a sweetheart?" She gushed.

"Yeah whatever I'm done with guys" I shrugged walking towards a bench at the corner. She rolls her eyes following me.

"Lizzy it's being months you really need to move on".

"How can I when I'm still madly in love with William? I finally admitted it to myself that's why I could never give myself fully to Eli".

"I just need a break for myself but that doesn't mean I can't be happy for you, so tell me everything about the guy" I baited her. She blushed and began rambling. I listened intently, surprised she had such strong feelings for a guy she's never spoken to, talk about creepy.

"So he seats in front of you in one of your classes but yet you guys haven't spoken, why?"

"I'm scared. You remember what happened with my last relationship" her voice reduced an octave and her eyes downcast.

"Emma?" I tapped her chin forcing her to look into my eyes.

"Ivan isn't Moses and the way you speak about the guy I'm sure you really like him so" I pointed to where the guy was still playing with his sister. "Go talk to him before you miss you chance".

"I don't think I can".

"Then don't think just do" I pushed her off the bench.

"Fuck Lizzy!" She whined before taking baby steps forward.

"Oh god! I can't" she turns to me.

"I'll go with you" I sighed standing up.

"Thanks Lizzy" she gives me a quick hug before we went together to meet our dear Ivan.

"Hi!" Green eyes looked up.

"Hey" he smiles teeth and all. He was definitely Emma's type, goofy nerd.

"This is my friend Emma and she wants to talk to you" I gave her a shove forward.

"What's your name little girl?" I turned to his sister.

"Amanda" she murmurs.

"So cute. How old are you?" I took Ivan's spot behind the swing.

"I'm four" She holds up four fingers.

"That's great I'm 22" I replied.

"You're older than brother Ivan".

"I am?" I stopped swinging.

"Yes. Why did you stop?" She pouts.

"Sorry". I shook my thoughts away pushing her. Emma is one year older than me, if I'm older than Ivan then Emma is too.

"So? Lizzy stop being an hypocrite girls can date older guys but not younger ones" my subconscious scoffs.

"You're right inner me".
