"Okay call me when you've picked them up" I replied before hanging up. My aunt Mary and Gladys were coming in today and Gloria was going to pick them up from the airport. Shoving my phone into my jacket I walked into the library going to our table at the ending. Quinn was already there.

"Hey" I smiled slipping into my seat.

"Hi" she smiles. She left her hair down for once and it reached her shoulders. It was messy like she had being tugging on it.

"So let's talk."

"Talk?" She raised her brows.

"Yes" I slammed her book shut. "Who's hurting you?" I asked going straight to the point.

"No one" she rushed out tensed.

"Really?"

"Yes can we study now?"

"No, talk to me Quinn I'm worried."

"Worried? You don't fucking know me!" Her voiced raised an octave.

"You're getting defensive some one is hurting you and you're taking it" I crossed my arms staring her down. She whims in her seat not looking up. Her hair was also hiding her face from me.

"Quinn please talk to me" I whispered.

"I.....I can't I'm sorry" she looks up before looking away and stuffing her books into her bag. "I have to go" she stood up.

"No" I stood too. "You're not leaving until we talk Quinn" I frowned.

"I can't please let it go" her eyes were watering now. If I drop it they will keep hurting her and I'll die of guilt from not doing anything about it.

"No come" I took her hands pulling her away from the library. We left the school building.

"Where are we going?"

"Somewhere were we can talk privately" I replied leading her to my car. "Get in" I unlocked the doors.

"Is this yours?"

"No time to act starstruck get in." She nods climbing into the car. I got into the driver's seat locking the doors.

"Give me a minute to inform my friends I've left" I murmured before pulling out my phone. She wore her seatbelt as I texted our group chat.

"I'll meet you guys at home please." Switching my phone off I turned the car on driving off. I parked in front of the restaurant we use to visit.

"Let's go in." She nods opening her door. For someone who she hardly knows she really trusts me. I led her to the very back of the restaurant for some privacy.

"Okay no one will hear us here, talk." I placed my hands on the table while she kept her gaze on her bag which was on her lap.

"It's embarrassing and you won't believe me" she chokes out.

"Try me Quinn" I said waiting. She takes deep breathes before speaking up again.

"I come from an ancient minded family."

"Meaning?"

"Those English family that believe in governesses and are so uptight" she explains.

"Okay" I nodded even though she kept her gaze down.

"My mom was a governess to a rich family" she chuckles, "surprisingly she couldn't keep her legs shut and slept with the master of the house" she says with so much bitterness for her mother. "That's how I was born, pathetic" she scoffs. I see her wipe her tears but still refused to meet my gaze.

"She died giving birth to me so the family had no choice but to accept me as their child. My own father couldn't bear to look at me because I was a symbol of his infidelity" her voice cracks. I gave her a minute to gather herself before she spoke up again.

"He had four older children who he loved and adored but not me. I was treated like a help from the day I was born."

"Mrs Darcy is his sister?"

"Yes she's his sister but she never did anything when she saw how I was treated. My siblings can't stand me because their mother has brainwashed them to hate me. It got better when they left for college, the youngest is ten years older than me. But now their all back. Being all boys they came back to the estate and they are wicked as ever. I didn't use to be hurt physically before but now that the boys are back they hit me for every little mistake." I covered my mouth to fight down my own sob.

"I'm so sorry." She chuckles.

"I don't want your pity Lizzy I really don't."

"It's not pity it's compassion. Your aunt said you're under scholarship."

"Yes I am."

"Then why don't you leave the house?"

"I won't be able to avoid the rent. I spend all my money feeding they don't let me eat their food."

"That's fucked up."

"I know." Her voice was below a whisper I had to strain my ears to hear. I thought about it for awhile before speaking up.

"Why don't you come live with me?" She looks up this time startled. Her eyes were red and her face puffy from crying my heart broke for her.

"What?"

"Yes come live with me."

"I can't I would hate to disrupt your privacy." I chuckled.

"They will be enough privacy. I live in a five bedroom duplex and only four of the rooms are occupied by my friends and I and we are looking for a roommate so they won't mind."

"I can't afford the rent."

"Don't worry about it."

"How will you guys pay then?" I smirked leaning into my chair.

"It's my building, my dad gave it to me as my 19th birthday gift." Her eyes widens in shock.

"Wow!"

"Yeah it's amazing and I want you out of that house" I frowned sitting up straight again.

"I don't know what to say."

"Just think about it Quinn please." She nods looking down again.

"Are you sure your friends won't mind?"

"Not in the slightest, they will love you even" I added cheerfully.

"Okay I'll think about it."

"Sure let's order" I waved a waitress over. I asked for my usual. Quinn skims the menu for a minute before ordering the cheapest thing.

"Add a plate of chicken sauce and bread" I said.

"What?"

"I know what you did Quinn and don't worry I won't bring you here for you to pay."

"I can't accept it please."

"Only for today Quinn you can pay for your own meal another time" I brushed her off. I switched my phone back on to avoid her complains.

"They just landed I'm taking them home" - Gloria. Gloria sent me the message two minutes ago. I texted her back, letting her know I'll drop by tomorrow to see them. The waitress returns with our food and I dug in. Quinn looked so unsure before she picked up the spoon. Now that I know why she was so thin I'm going to fatten her up, no one deserves to go through what she's being through. Her story sounded like things you only red about in novels but hearing it in real life made me a hate a family I didn't know Mrs Darcy included for not helping.

♥️♥️♥️♥️Do you blame Mrs Darcy too for not doing anything? I know I do😤😤.
